Duvet covers.

I reckon we've got at least 10 duvet sets. I didn't think we had that many but we did a sort out of the spare room and found loads. Most are king size I think.
I was about to buy more. [emoji53]
We use the same one or two sets on rotation, mainly because I didn't know what I still had.

All our bedding gets tumble dried. If we put sheets/duvet covers on the washing line they get caught on trees/a fence.

I dry all my washing indoors, because my backyard has a low gate right onto and is viewable from the street and I don't want to invite knicker-stealers and the like. Anyway, there's always some washing on a radiator or a clothes horse somewhere or another. Even without being directly on the radiator, bed sheets dry incredibly quickly - especially if you've used a spin setting first.

Nothing in our house dries quickly and most things have a double spin. Our house is damp and shitty. :D

7 or 8 sets probably? But that's for two double beds (mine and the teenager's) and it's also a combination of me and the chap's stuff as we're recently moved in together. I find it doesn't dry quickly at all, takes a day or two on the clothes horse. I can't reliably get washing dry outside in Scotland between October and March (the sun doesn't get high enough, in a city) and we don't have a tumble dryer. We also have a crappy cheap washing machine with a rubbish spin cycle (thanks landlord)

Ok so I think we probably have about 20.

Cot = 3 toddler duvet covers
2 single beds = 6 covers
2 double beds = 6 covers

plus covers for three camping duvets and two spare duvets for guests.

I don't think we have too many duvet covers but we definitely have too many duvets!!

We have just two duvet covers. We only use a duvet in winter because in summer we only need a top sheet and cotton bedspread. I'm very fussy about the duvet covers though, they have to be high quality cotton that still feel crisp no matter how many washes.

I lived in the NE for three years. When we moved there we bought garden chairs, but only sat on them for two days during that three year period. :(

It's not that bad (it's sunny atm) but like weepiper says washing isn't doesn't always get dry in a day in the 'winter' months. Nor do we have central heating.
I'm going to stick with 'excessive' covers because I get bored easily :)

I couldn't live with 2 covers, or all white covers, I like colour :) And pillow cases HAVE to match or the cover would have to go!

We can't have white covers because of two hairy dogs. They keep being banned from the bed but somehow they worm their way back.

We have white bedding and three cats that sleep on our bed at various times. That's what the boil wash is for :D

I have 4 duvet sets, each with matching curtains, anal I know, I love things to coordinate and look pretty
People expect me to have gothy black with skull accents....they are all Dormer florals! ....favourite one being Harewood :D

For my bed I think I have 4. I have two for the spare bed and I have a couple more that are on spare duvets. I like duvet covers more than I like changing the bed.

I've got 3 beds and, over the years, my tastes have changed so I've moved from quilt cover to quilt cover to quilt cover.

And I don't throw the old ones out because they might come in handy :facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

So I might have about 12 or 15 in the house but the ones I'm using now are the only ones I'm using and they all get washed and dried in a day.

Quite a few...but I have around 8 duvets or so - has been 6 adults in my house, plus large dogs, cats and small child (currently down to 4) so yep, we have/need a lot of bedding. I manage to spill my tea in bed at least once a week...then filthy dog paws and so on.

Surely the only answer to this is - "I have just the number I'm happy with!"

And the answer to drying washing in the NE is a dehumidifier outside the bathroom door. Been using that and a drying rack in the bath since my tumble dryer went on fire last year and I don't think I'll replace it. Dehumidifier is 65w on auto - a fraction of the dryer's use and stuff dries creditably quickly even in winter. Jeans/duvet covers etc get hung nearer the dehumidifier and heavy woolen items are hung right above it. :)

:)

Well, no, because the original question has started me thinking about the ones I have kept that I will never use again and about the coming of Spring and the current or tradtion of Spring Cleaning and de-cluttering and my overfull bathroom cupboard and the charity shop down the road and such things as these...

In fact I may do this thing this weekend. :)

And old towels too....

And maybe old curtains...

In that case, you will eventually end-up with the number you are happy with - so I don't see any great difference..! :p :D

Yes, these things can creep up on one.

One minute, everything is tickety-boo and the next minute some gentlemen are taking you away in an ambulance. :(

We have three and two duvets (a double with two covers and a king size with just one). I had another two for the double but threw them out when we moved bc we don't have the space for extra things. Its a ball ache when the king size one needs washing bc it never dries in time and then we end up nicking the duvet off each other in the night. The double are fine cos I always wash it straight away as soon as it comes off meaning there's one ready to put clean on th next time so if doesn't dry as quickly as needed then that's not a prob.

I have loads! Two identical sets for the spare/guest room, plus an innumerable amount for general use.

Some of them I acquired over the decades as people moved out of houses I lived in - like when my New Zealand and Aussie lodgers left. Oh, and when my German lodgers left.

They mostly used to get used, as I was very sociable, and people used to sleep on the floor and on sofa beds and mattresses and whatever.

I am not sociable in the same way now that I am Old and Grumpy :)

But I still have lots of duvet covers.

I tend to use the same two or three on my bed. I have one that I am sentimentally attached to because it was the last present that my Granny actually went out and bought, rather than giving us a cheque. It is getting pretty tatty :(
