Dulwich Hamlet vs Stonewall FC (Friendly) 11th Feb 2015

I didn't notice any of that. Even Mishi kept his shirt on!

I was also a bit perplexed by this:

'One was Ruby, resplendent in pink wig with working fairy lights in it. “I lost my job two days ago, and needed cheering up,” she said, as she destroyed a large G&T pitch side. “I’ve never been to a football match in my life, but I’ll be coming back”. '

She's definitely been to our games before. I mean it's not as if you'd forget her in a hurry. She looks fantastic! (Glad you enjoyed the game Ruby, and hope you find a new job soon, I know how it feels. The Hamlet experience has helped keep my own spirits up during some difficult times recently.)

I think he twisted her words slightly!! but i will definitely send on your message if she doesnt see it here first!

the comments at the end of the article just show important this is. :(
I see the relatively small amount of twatty comments as a sign of progress given that we're talking about the Telegraph. One bit of homophobia would still be too many but I suspect that article would have attracted a lot more of that bollocks ten years ago.

Agreed. It's not just that there'd have been more, the tone is different now. The twats on there are gleefully being twats, but they're not seriously complaining and expecting to get support.

can I say, you always look great spanglechick - always great photos of you at Champion Hill
and how do you keep warm
Nah. That's not me. It's obvious how I kept warm; I'm dressed like a teddy bear.

(grr - i thought I posted this the other day, hence double post thing...)

Ten years ago we would not have had this game at all...

The floodlight arrangement is highly reminiscent of the imposing stadia of the 'crack Eastern European outfits' who would periodically ditch Melchester Rovers out of the Cup Winners' Cup.
All it needs is a speech bubble coming from the stand saying "Good grief! The centre forward just punched Tubby Morton in the ribs!" and another one coming from the other side with "But the ref hasn't seen it! He's allowing the goal to stand!"

In the later, more melodramatic years of Roy of the Rovers European exits were treated in the same way that disaster movies treat extinction-level events. A black edge on the frame and everything.

Shame they couldn't get my caption right. I'm not from the Dulwich Hamlet Supporters Trust. Other than that...very good piece.

Yes, but joking aside, I don't speak for the Trust, and events like this are actually instigated by Dulwich Hamlet Football Club, and as I work voluntarily on things like this as a member of the Dulwich Hamlet Football Club committee, it would be nice for the Football Club to get correctly acredited. Sadly, it's not the first time this has happened...
Why this is happening, I have no idea, as I never say I represent the Trust.
