Well yes and because it is loosely administered by Denmark it should already be protected by NATO. However we are entering uncharted waters here. The US president, head of the most powerful NATO country is basically threatening another NATO member and stating he wants Greenland for America's 'national security' My translation of that statement is that it is all about the vast mineral wealth in Greenland which Donny covets, and has, in fact very little to do with national security.

Of course. Nice little earners under the ice that's melting.

But the US is bigger than Denmark. And what's Denmark going to do? Call in the rest of NATO? It's a desperate situation but who wants to see shots fired? Denmark will have to bend over backwards, allowing US occupation in all but name.
But maybe even in name.

He's a bully, and if it works here it will be precedent for that much trickier ambitions.

He certainly wouldn't care about the Greenlanders if he took their country by force.

At the moment they have a similar system as Denmark....free healthcare etc. which would soon come to an end if he got his filthy paws on it.

Better send those proposed French and British peacekeepers that were suggested for Ukraine to Greenland for a bit of practice.
 
like an insane person, I decided to watch the Hannity Trump interview. half an hour of incoherent lies, obsessive ego issues, contempt for anyone that he doesn't like, possibly-dementia inspired ramblings, and massive ball licking from fox news.

beneath it all, beneath the grotesque exterior, is a lot of wounds, and hence the aforementioned exterior. Its the narcissistic complex classico. Build somethign grand to protect the wounds inside from hurting even more. Very dangerous. We all do this to an extent, but have awareness, etc. Thought experiment: can you imagine him just once admitting fully and without qualification that he was wrong about something, anything? I can't. Scary.

Are there no independent psychiatric assessments required ?
The guy is batshit psycho....the idea he believes he can take Greenland and gets stroppy with the prime minister of Denmark because she doesn't cow tow to his demands?
I'm beginning to think nobody ever said no to Trump in his entire life. Spoiled asshole brat with not a single grey cell in his peasized brain.

Of course he can take Greenland. Easily. Unlike other presidents he is not restrained by the norms that have been established since WW2.

And while we're on the Constitution, how about letting Trump have a third term? According to New York Post (where you'll find all kinds of GOP overexcitement):

It probably doesn't stand a prayer of passing, but it will flush out any R Representatives who aren't believers in the true faith, and it does move the Overton window somewhat.

Would need democrats to get to two thirds so no chance fortunatly.
