No Googling or research, no answers in the thread. Collect all your answers together, then you can PM them to me if you like, by end of Sunday. And then, I'll either mark them, or much more likely, you can mark them yourselves and I'll pretend I've diligently verified proceedings. Either way, full answers at the end.

OK, so I've just got off the phone with Johnny 'Sir' Chilcot - boy that man can talk - and he says he's willing to dedicate 'whatever years I have left' to a public inquiry, but for now, I think I have to declare this quiz... a draw. At 36 points out of a possible 68.

Sure, I was originally going to knock two half points off QueenOfGoths for two very slightly wrong Answer Smashes, but in the circumstances it would be cruel as the spirit of them was there. And who knows what the last appearance of Sherlock Holmes truly was? Not me, because I don't have what belboid put, but he might well be right, so he gets a poorly researched point. Thus basically either of them might have won, or maybe neither, or maybe the real victory here is for quiz itself. I'm being told no, it's not that.
