Such a clean, modern looking bird. Always admired them, even if they are a bit French. The tail stabs on the MiG-21 makes it not quite as pretty, though probably make it a better fighter.

That's what it said where I got the picture.Blue Steel?
Then it would not be unreasonable for us to continue with that assumption, then. That's what it said where I got the picture.
I went to the RAF fiftieth anniversary air show at RAF Finningley in 1968.Blue Steel?
An elegant weapon for a more bonkers age.I went to the RAF fiftieth anniversary air show at RAF Finningley in 1968.
I remember in the programme I bought there was a four page a discussion about using Blue Steel by attaching them to military variants of Concorde.
I wish I still had it.
Is it a Thor, didn’t we lose one?On a related theme, What's this? and why does it make the UK unique amongst counties?

It looked awesome in the sketches.Am elegant weapon for a more bonkers age.
How cool would a tooled up Concord have been? Very cool.
Would have made for a great fireball in that livery.
It is, and we are the only country to have launched a satellite (Prospero) but don't have the capability any more.Black Arrow. UK is the only country to develop a space programme then bin it.
Apparently this image is from the RAF 1968 yearbook?I went to the RAF fiftieth anniversary air show at RAF Finningley in 1968.

In Hullo Russia, Goodby England, Derick Robson's novel about a Vulcan Squadron, the unofficial plan of most crews was to keep flying east till the fuel was gone , bail out and try to start a new, medieval level, life in the Steppes or Tibet...A concern for the V bomber crews was pointed out to me by my dad at the air show during the demonstration. As the V bomber scramble when four Vulcans all screamed off in under three minutes. He said of course, even if they got to their target and back without being shot down. They probably wouldn’t have anywhere to land because all this here would be gone. He was a fatalistic chap.
