Chile v Spain/ Honduras v Switzerland

a draw would be very dangerous for Spain - they really need all 3 points - even if they get 3 points and the swiss get 3 + a healthy score line spain will be out!

No they won't - their goal difference will be better than Chiles if they win, no matter what the score.

Why so much hate for the Spanish? You'd prefer gold hoarding facists?

Franco's Children or Nazi Bankers?;)

I dunno. I just hate the hype of the two big teams, the way Sky pundits crap on about La Liga (they wouldn't give a shit about it if someone else had the contract to show it) and whatever else I get shoved down my throat.

Still I'm reeling in shock to find myself so far behind the times not to know that Buffon is an utter cunt in real life.

Or just like England where the Prmier League is lauded as the best on earth and your national team hasn't acutally won a single thing since....oh when was it again I don't think the media mentioned...

;)

If Chile wins by one goal and Honduras wins by three, or if Chile wins by two and Honduras wins by two, Honduras go through if they score at least three more goals than Spain.

That please.

I think we've got enough sides in this competition who've progressed playing negative, regressive footy (including Brazil and Portugal today). It'd be a pity if Switzerland were to join them.

And what exactly have Spain played then?

Progressive, short-passing, possession football. They've got a special name for it but I can't remember what it is.

They were ultimately unlucky against the Swiss and played very well against Honduras.

Tonight's game should be really interesting.

As I gather, Chile play a very quick, counter-attacking game while Spain play a specific style which is also attacking but less direct than the Chileans.

Tiki-taka or something like that.

Of course if Spain draw and Switzerland win, Chile and Spain go through. Chile's defence has looked solid enough so far, albeit against far less taxing opposition than they meet tonight, but if they can play the counter, the longer it goes on without Spain scoring, I think nerves might start creeping in...Chile only need a draw to win the group and avoid Brazil, don't they?

spains world cup this one is not - yoda told me - but they look hungry tonight - they ought to be hungry cos they might be going home in a crap minibus (or so the song goes)
