Charlie Watts RIP

Sad news, if I recall he much preferred jazz to the music he played with the Stones.

Always felt he looked cool in a laid back detached way when I saw clips of them playing live

I heard an interview somewhere where he said he would have been happy to retire at any time, but that whilst they were still going he would always play.

I read Keef's book and he's quite the bitch.

The only Stone he wasn't fackin orrible about was Charlie, whom he had great respect for.
He is also not too scathing about Ronnie, but then they did spend a lot of time freebasing cocaine together

Although Charlie and Keith were very different personalities they seemed to have a similar sense of humour, you would often see them on video clips having a laugh together about something :D

He's the only drummer I can think of who did that thing where he doesn't play the snare and the hi-hat at the same time (not sure if it has a name). I never knew why he played like that, I guess it was just his thing.

He was certainly very easy to do an impersonation of though with that style.

:weed:

This feels like massive news.. like part of the furniture being removed.

Love the Stones purple period... Went to see them 4-5 years ago at the London Arena and really didn't enjoy the gig. Rock n roll.
i don't know anyone who has any of the albums after black and blue
