Charlie Watts RIP

A few years ago I caught the Paddington train from Exeter. Waiting on the platform (entirely separately but heading for the same 1st class carriage) was Charlie and his smiling family/friends and Katie H*pkins (alone and scowling). I can' t think of two such opposite people and wondered what the atmosphere was like in the carriage or if they acknowledged each other. He was always impeccably dressed and polite. RIP.

IIRC he had a shitload of classic cars but never learned to drive.

I have just finished Robert Elms book on London. He is forever banging on about Charlie being the best dressed person in London, whatever the style
