I have been known to go for such unlikely bets in the past, but only when I would have really hated if it’d come true- in other words, insurance. Not perhaps as close as the 89th minute, but I did put a tenner on City going through right after Benzema’s penalty, at 4/1. As a Madrid fan I would have hated ending up losing the tie at that point, so the elation of going through more than cancels out losing a tenner. And if the worst had happened I would at least have treated myself to a nice bottle of wine to drown my sorrows.
