Central / S America On A Decent Daily Budget

I've been using Raggamuffin Tours, Stella. Very friendly. Good outfit. Half a day out on the reef cost about £10. Shark Ray Alley's something else.

Just about to do this trip with them. Looks ace. you get to camp here for the night:

Nice photos - I stayed in the same place as you on Caye Caulker but never got as far as Tobacco Caye, I think I'm going to have to go back to Belize sometime!

Blue Wave? Nice place, innit? $35US a night - balcony, sea view, cable TV, own bathroom, maid service even. Been here a fortnight. Got another week or so here I reckon then I'm off to San Ignacio then on to Guatemala.

Really fallen in love with Belize. It's got this great West Indian / Caribbean feel despite being in the thick of Central America. I'm wondering whether to pass on South America for this trip and head off into the Caribbean after Panama instead. I'm thinking Trinidad / Tobago / Jamaica / Haiti maybe. It's just a thought at the mo but it's an option I'm seriously considering. I love the pace of life on this island.

Not the ferry, that Busquebus thing is shite.

Seacat.

BA is dusty and dodgy, but we hit a milonga last night and sat there watching tango until 2.30am, it's one hell of a city.

Which part you staying in? I liked San Telmo the best, a bit like the Brixton of BA...

I'm all over the place, Recoleta, San Martin, Constitucion, Pilar... but it's todo bueno so far.

Constitucion is more like Brixton to me... but with colourful buses. :hmm:

Argentina rocks, end of.

Took this today. Fucking cracking weather we're having isn't it? :p

Just got into San Pedro on the edge of Lake Atitlan in Guatemala.

Got a beauty of a room with a roof terrace that looks out over the lake. Pub nearby, lovely family that run it. 100 quid for three weeks. :D

You. Twat.

It was much better 15 years ago anyway, so it's not like I give a shit or anything.

*no envy at all*

;)

:D

Youd hate it, Sweet FA. San Pedros ruined. Its got roads and electricity stuff now. It was much better 10 years ago.

I hate it.

:D

Just rented myself a nice flat here in San Pedro for a couple of months,at least. This could well be the finishing point of the trip. :D

I has not been getting blog links. Is you not doing them?? I did say yes to your email ages ago, and even replied and ting.

I got one from Spacy though :p

Where are you NVP? Lakeside or in 'town'? Any running water or is it lake baths?

Any pics?

I´m smack bang on the line between the two. Suits me, tbh. I get the view minus the noise, but the pub´s just down the hill. All mod cons in my place. Cable TV, even.

A few pics

This is the view from my roof:

Been to pay Maximon a visit yet?

In spirit, iyswim. ;) He´s down the road in San Juan, isn´t he? Haven´t made it out there yet. It´s very easy to get stuck in San Pedro. I intend to do some exploring after Xmas. Can´t be arsed right now, tbh. :D
