car naming

Speaking to a dealer at the weekend he said it's fine to give a name to older classics. He omitted to mention more modern cars.
This is someone who has a collection of classics inc. an Alfa or two, a '62 corvette (beautiful) and a Model T.

I've driven a Model T called Clementine. The name was even painted on the bonnet.

Nice and appropriate; oh my darlin.....
Bastards to drive according to Tim Moore.
Yes, it takes a little bit of getting used to.

There are 3 pedals on the floor but:

The left one gives you neutral (pushed to the floor), low drive (half way up) and high drive (all the way up), but ISTR * you only get high if you've put the gear lever in high too.
The middle one, you press to go backwards
The right one is the brake (I think it's a transmission brake)

(The accelerator is a lever on the steering column)

* It was a long time ago so I think I'd need a refresher about the finer details of the interaction of the left pedal and the gear lever!
