You want me to spoil it before you go with the setlist, general raving about their excellence and incoherent babbling about slide guitars like last time?
 
I may have peaked a bit early for this tbh. I'm properly pissed enough already - and of a mind to stay that way - but the gig's not till Monday. This could get ugly.
 
I'd be interested to hear what you make of it if you go. Just been having a look over that list up there and it looks like there's a few new additions to their repertoire. I've never seen them do 'Blue Million Miles'. Very excited about this now.

I've got tickets. It's a week tomorrow, so I was surprised there were any left. But I've talked a handful of mates into going with me. Looking forward to it. :)
 
Absolutely superb in Bristol last night. I won't ruin the surprise for killer b and danny la rouge though, so if you want to know how they've rejigged the setlist have a click in this here spoiler thingy.

Doctor Dark. Fucking amazing this live. I think they've listened to the criticism that they tend to stick to the more accessible end of Beefheart's stuff as there was this and a fair bit of 'Trout Mask' stuff last night. Can't remember which songs off 'Trout Mask' tbh as my memory becomes hazy as I tend to celebrate these affairs with the aid of strong drink. Suffice to say there is much more skronking sax and time signatures that probably shouldn't really exist this time round.
And then there was a cover of this which was sublime:

I know they've played 'Smokestack Lightnin' before now but I really didn't expect a Howlin' Wolf cover.

And then there were the usual suspects in 'Big Eyed Beans' 'Steal Softly Thru Snow' 'Suction Prints' 'Moonlight On Vermont' 'Circumstances' 'Low Yo Yo Stuff' 'Click Clack' etc

Two sets: played for about 2 hrs, I reckon. I swear they get better every time I see em. Denny and Rockette Morton are both gents when you chat between sets, too.

A fucking great night. I hope all have as good a time as I did. :)
