Breaking Bad (motion picture) being made

It it's made by the same people I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be good

I agree with you, but my concern was more about the overall story, and the need to develop it further.

The ending of the series was a good conclusion and fairly satisfying. I like to think that Jesse ended up escaping the hell he’d been living in, as the ending suggested, and as this film is a sequel of the series I am not sure I would enjoy it if the film portrays Jesse as still having a shit existence, for instance.

If I recall correctly... weren't they walking about a movie a few years ago, and some people shot it down?

I can see Netflix going the "TV series into movies" route because it feels like the next big thing to stream, but seeing how Better Call Saul is still on, a BB movie kind of seems irrelevant in a way. Saul should end first, but then it's really too late for a BB movie....

It’s already a stretch. My understanding is that the movie picks up with Jesse directly after the final scene of Breaking Bad. But that’s 6 years ago. So Aaron Paul has aged 6 years, but Jesse hasn’t.

The age of Odenkirk is already a problem for Better Call Saul. He’s only now become Saul, but we’ve not even arrived at the events that see his introduction to the narrative of Breaking Bad.

Don’t think age is really an issue for future things when it comes to de-aging these days. If you’ve seen some of the recent marvel stuff you’ll know what I mean in terms of Samuel l Jackson, Clark Greg and what they will be doing with Brent Spiner for Star Trek: Picard.

People will simply never get too old for a role now.

I think this will lead to a season of Better Call Saul in the black and white future with Saul teaming up with Pinkman to get him off any criminal charges and ride out into the sunset together.

Better Call Saul new series release has moved to fit this film in. There are at least two more season of BCS. These three entities are going to join together at some point.

That's got to be some twisted plot hole... the three things having a massive juggling act to show how it all fits together.

I haven't watched Saul yet, so if danny la rouge is correct in the point of not being at the Breaking Bad narrative, by the time the Netflix movie comes around, it's really going to be a mess... maybe?

Better Call Saul has sequences set post Breaking Bad. These are in black and white and show Saul's new life after he exits BB. So it offers both prequel and sequal stories. The post BB scenes are brief, but telling, and clearly leading up to some end point in the future.

Sounds so crazy... I guess that means I need to catch up and start watching it?

Agree

it’s not essential, it’s not brilliant, but it’s really enjoyable. Both Jesse’s are great, and there are plenty of good scenes. It’s fan service, but it could have been a lot lot worse.

Haha, awesome. I read my way down this thread from the start, first discovering there’s a new breaking bad movie being planned, then kicking myself that I was going to have to wait for it until the 10th November release date, then finally realising the US date format thing and happily comprehending that it’s in fact out already!

Saturday night movie all lined up and ready to go then  Now none of you lot spoil it by telling me what happens!
