Don't suppose many from here were going, but it's just been announced that Boardmasters has been cancelled, due to some predicted nasty weather. Have a few mates who were relying on paid work this weekend :(

Our team are there, lots of annoyed punters because of the late notice

Still you probably don't want to be camped on a cliff in a storm

It's not only Boardmasters that's been cancelled, so has Worthing's weekend outside cinema.

Forecast doesn't look that bad, I've certainly seen a lot worse going into a festival. Still if the authorities give the thumbs down there probably isn't much the organisers can do.

Were they on the edge of a cliff?

The wind really is something up there, I thought my tent might take off last year and that had most of my house in it. [emoji1]

I'm more puzzled that a surfing festival has been cancelled due to a storm. Have these dudes never seen Big Wednesday.

Surfs up dude

Surfing still on :D
Some very angry people saying “But boomtown hasn’t been cancelled”

Boomtown is in a protected bowl deep in the hampshire countryside not on the highest cliff in North Cornwall facing the full tilt of an Atlantic blow:D

Watch, it will be sunny as fuck.
Newquay will be utterly overrun this weekend. It’s chaos when 60,000 people are in a field 3 miles away.
Bars pubs, clubs and eating places are going to rake it in

The late notice thing is a bit hard on the punters though

This is bothering me: the highest cliff in Cornwall is actually High Cliff, which is somewhere between Crackington Haven and Boscastle and not in Newquay. Glad to have got that off my chest.

Pissing down in Cornwall, I'm told and there's been an earthquake over Porthleven.

Just booked a day at the 2021 fest and refused to pay £10 for weather cancellation insurance despite one of the children screaming at me that I was being drunk and irresponsible (the other agrees with my thoughts on insurance policies). Now starting to doubt my steadfastness....
