Can't wait!!! This will be my first festival in the UK!! Lineup looks massive, place looks pretty, stay up all night, and sleep in the sun (please god, shine down). Not looking forward to the toilets, but hey! I've even got a solar powered shower!!!
Leanard Cohen and a spliff (or two) is going to be a dream for me...
I can ignore the kids, I spend most of my life doing that anyway! Up their own arse middle classers, likewise! Its all about the music anyhoo! Enough substance abuse and everyone will be lovely anyway ;)

I happen to be 'middle class' insofar as my step-dad is Navy therefore I went to Public School. I'm not a stuck up twat though. I think the two things are unfairly spoken about as if they are the same thing. I'm also really poor, I'm going cause me g/f has got two free tics!

You're right, actually not like me to judge a whole class of people...soz got over-excited. Don't like uptheirownass people of any class, creed, colour!! I actually went to private schools too. So double soz. And I didn't pay for the tix either....wot a wanker!

Brixton market is a good place to get fish. I wasn't 'avin a go like; I'm a massive reverse snob, but shouldn't be. Big chill will be the place for excitement.

I'm thinking about getting a cheap ticket off ebay as there are loads still for sale there and as the event gets nearer the price will go down, hopefully. So the question is will my Big Chill ticket get me into the Sunrise bit as well?

Yes it will, Sunrise have their own field in the festival, open to all at the festival. Sunrise ticket holders are sharing the North Camping field.

Tickets are near to selling out. The BIg Chill Bar has 7 left, the BC House has a few, and Ticketline have some but I don't know how many.

Really?

I don't recall the big chill selling out the past few years, I guess the extra Sunrise people have boosted the numbers.

No cheap tickets for me if it sells out :(

You are right - the last 2 years it didn't sell out and there were bargains to be had on Gumtree / EBay. But prior to that, the festival sold out well in advance and did much better sales-wise than other similar sized events.

I'm getting excited! So who are you lot going to see? I am looking forward to Roisin Murphym, Derrick Carter, The Mighty Boosh, and Bill Bailey :D

Lee Perry + Adrian Sherwood, African Head Charge, Alabama 3, Roots Manuva, John Shuttleworth and quite a few others.
There weren't any big name headliners that made me want to go, but quite a lot of interesting smaller stuff.

I think we're going to head over from London early on Thursday morning.

I was going to go to this but....I just canae afford £129 and I also have a DLA tribunal to attend on the Monday morning- gutted cos I love the theivery corporation and have allways wanted to see them.

Similar to what I'll check I think, though not Perry. He annoys me at the best of times but watching him paint seems about as worthwhile as watching Jah Shaka put up shelves or Coxsone Dodd do some plastering.

Usually some d&b on one night and some dubstep to check but it's mostly a social for me.

Just booked me ticket.

I'll be working Wednesday night til 5'o'clock Thursday morning, then straight on the ferry. Woohoo!

I'm going. It's four days of proper good music in a beautiful valley with your mates. Who cares if the bloke in front drives a Discovery? Look:

Alabama 3
Bill Bailey

DJ Krush
The Mighty Boosh
Luke Vibert
Thievery Corp
Tom Middleton
Beth Orton
Roisin Murphy

Still no sign of our tickets and no way of picking them up from the post office between now & Thursday!!

We're stuck for ours too (though I HAVE received the carpark pass -- from a separate supplier)

Will be phoning Bristol Tickets later .. I'm a little better off than you, can get to my Post Office tomorrow morning or Thursdasy morning. But not after!!

Just spoken to Bristol Tickets. The man was helpful.

They got their tranche of Big Chill tickets (earmarked for Sunrise exiles) VERY late indeed. They have sent them out by first class registered post yesterday and today, so with any genuine luck, I may get them by tomorrow morning's post, Wednesday.

Really hoping so cos if I don't get them Wednesday, I won't be at home for Thursday morning's delivery -- I'm going from work Thurs evening direct to my train to Deb/Wales.

BUT Bristol Tix did say they'd send me a covering email to prove I was entitled, in an emergency ... ulp!

Borderline stuff. Any other Sunrise exiles (as well as us and Tort) who are in this nailbiting position?? :( :hmm:

I wouldn't say I'm biting my nails! I have my original Sunrise tickets & e-mail evidence that I've exchanged them. If that ain't good enough we'll just park the van somewhere obstructive & rant util they sort it out! :D

Yeah after a bit of post panic reflection :p  I was also thinking that we had pretty good paper guarentees anyway. I'd just prefer to have the actual tix in my hand. Fair chance now that I'll get them in time (or at least the magic failed delivery card), possibly even in today's post.

But the Bristol Tix man was reassuring about being able to get in anyway.

ETA : Also, with so many Sunrise replacement tickets being late, the Big Chill setup should be aware of the general problem, hopefully they'll be expecting some folks only to have emails.

Yay!! Got my "Failed delivery" card from the P.O. a day earlier than I was expecting it! :)

Picking up tomorrow ....

Looking at full day by day line up on the site in more detail than I've done so far ... blimey, loads of cool shit to go and see!

African Headcharge, Thievery Corporation .... and shed loads else ...

Ignores weather forecasts ;)

Post Office tried to deliver ours yesterday but I've no way of picking them up now so we're having to cancel them & pick up replacements at the box office!

Still haven't got our replacement e-tickets & it looks like there are plenty of others in the same boat. There's also rumours flying about that Sunrisers will require photo ID. Can't see how that can be true but I predict chaos at the box office regardless! :hmm:

Good luck on getting in!

Old school resolution method : park yer truck RIGHT across the main entrance and get really stroppy and drunk and immobile ;) and you'll be fine.

The West Mercia Police are understaffed and wimpish.

Or so 'Bedford Sid' said ;) :p :D :p

i hav just been to see the truly awesome Jim White and he is playing at the Big Chill....if he is not already on your list go see him ...:)

All packed up and departing soonish.

Taking my u75 t-shirt so if anyone sees me, do say hello :)
