Best US TV series opening credits?

It's The Sopranos. By miles. True Blood is great if you're an emo, laughable if you're a normal human being.

Law & Order SVU (UK opening titles)

Salvage One (Sat morn ITV when I was a kid)

Fantastic Journey (can't remember what station showed it, RTE or ITV)

Fringe (retro)

It's good how they slightly change the title sequence depending on what's happening in the show, like they had a different sequence for episodes that take place in the alternate universe, and a different one for this season's alternate time-line, and this one for the this episode that takes place in the past.

The True Blood title sequence gives a sense about it's setting, the Deep South to a bluesy country number. No idea what's supposed to be emo about it, either visually or in terms of music. Are you not just letting us know how cool you think you are ? :p

Anyways, can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet:

Ah, right. The sweater should've given it away. I can remember Johnny Depp getting a bit overexcited by them in the film about him.

Just watching season 2 of Homeland and I quite like those titles as they are clearly intended to be like a dream sequence.
