best film about a city?

boohoo

No.
Just watched 'of time and the city', about Liverpool, old footage, music and a narration rather beautifully put together...well, as these things go.

Also have seen the London nobody knows and Saint Etiennes did a film of london...finisterre...which is alright but no great surprises...

so what are other documentry but not quite films about great cities worth watching?

Actually old movies like Billy Liar, Alfie and Blow up have great footage of the changing cities. And the pool of london...which is well worth a watch for the London docks in full swing.

And the millionairess - peter sellers movie... however, they are films which happen to have scenes of London/elsewhere, which have changed rather than films about a city.
