I've been asking for "a tune with a buzzing bass-line and some voice going 'dah dah'" and I just got blank expressions for over 20 years.

I wonder what the DnB scene is like in Belgium Id love to check that out...

Drum and bass is in Belgium for years a popular music movement that is increasing in significance. Pretty much every major festival programming drum and bass and many clubs and venues have their own drum and bass night. One of the founders of the contemporary Belgian drum and bass scene is Hans Machiels, better known as Murdock. Along with Netsky he founded Radar Records, and he also organizes the famous Rampage events. I was on a no borders, black block action in Brussels in the early 2000s. We ended up in in this bit of the old town with cobbled streets. The plod had clearly had enough and decided we weren't going any further so they blocked all the street coming and going. We have a large truck with us as a support vehicle. When it was apparent we weren't going anywhere the side came down to reveal a sound system. What did they play? Old skool Belgian techno

I nearly came in my pants. We were surrounded by bars and shops and had a monster rig knocking out some classic anthems. Best. Kettle. Ever.
