Sorry to hear you're not going Badgers, must be pretty serious to have to miss this fezzie. Anway if its any consolation the weather forecast is utter shit.

Both really disappointed about not going (regardless of weather) and of course I will be hoping for bands not turning up, overbearing fascist security, plagues of locusts and massive bouts of food poisoning.

Nah, just hope you all have a wicked time!! I have been banging on about this festival all year and twisting peoples arms to book it :D

Cheers Teaboy.

:(

No canoe needed. Was but a shower. The ground is dry and the sun has just come out. Still bloody windy though.

Had a wonder through the site earlier. Very busy, loads happening, soundsystems and lights being set up.

Another faller

Well, I'm out. :(

A whole bunch of factors have come together, so I've put my ticket on eBay.

£BIN is face value, and min bid is still stuck on 99p. Someone will get a bargain I'm sure. :)

Have a blast. :)

Cheer up baby.

We will have Pot Noodles tomorrow
Sitting on the floor in the garden
Listening to the Levellers on the stereo

More apt if you sat in the shower.

For all who are still going. See you in the mud.

Real shame to find you've had to bail out as well paolo :(

I wonder whether SE Devon has been really really lucky to avoid -- so far!! -- the truly torrential rain that those further North in Devon, and here in S Wales, have endured today. A colleague's husband reported two inches plus of rain in Ilfracombe today, and not so far N of that, in Swansea, we must have had about as much. Yet 5co77ie over on efestivals, he's based in Exeter, confirms what SunRarr said above -- very cloudy and windy today, but almost no rain ...

It could all be about regional details here ..... Metcheck for Exeter suggest** we may continue to escape quite lightly. Fingers crossed!!

**Mind you that's the '12z' (midday Thurs) update, lets hope the '18z' (6 pm) or '00z' (midnight) updates don't worsen prospects when they're put up!! :p :hmm:

It's been raining for a while. Just been out round the site. The main road though is ok at the moment. The main arena is getting boggy.

Import gravel, straw, woodchip, etc. ...

We're off within an hour, later than we wanted ...

On the better side, latest Metcheck forecast is for pretty light showers only, from later today onwards ...

Because of the tin? I suppose I should expect some anti -Cornish action seeing as we're in Devon  Not as wet as it could be, but I'm finding little to tempt me from my dry van.

Hobo Jones were fantastic today. It's been drizzling a bit but the site's hasn't gone quagmire-esque yet.

Oh, and here they are

Fucking hell... What a utterly brilliant first day. Was out on site from 9.30am (we live in Escot) and hung about about at the very back of the arena all day, mostly in the Exodus / Leviticus tent. They played some lovely reggae all day and we had little '88 house session too... A few of the tunes had me in tears, old school, good old times. Spent the rest of the evening with some lovely Escot workers in the Bimble Inn which was chill to thrill in 30 minutes. Very impressed. Can't wait for 2 more nights of good times.

Just got home, had chesse sardines and tea. And paracetamol as the cider levels were through the roof today.

Beautiful days indeed :)

Well, the second day was honestly very boring. Just got home... All the music in all the stages and tent was shite festival crap Bimble inn was just about acceptable, saw a couple of good bands earlier this afternoon.

The Q&A with Donn Letts I couldn't take seriously, with all his talk of Jamaica and proper music and "fuck MTV" and then his DJ set full of reggae cover versions of Black Eye Peas and Kaiser Chiefs... Maybe it wasn't the kasier chiefs but it was all fucking tat whatever it was.

Think I'll stay at home tomorrow.

Enjoying a very relaxed festival after a couple of full on weekends and shambala to follow. Had a dance up leviticus, but that was about the best I could manage. African head charge and beanfield play tomorrow. It' s like the 90s never happened.

Enjoyed the Leviticus tent during the day, Potential for some lovely reggae and dub but it just seemed to decent into crap drum n bass and early hardcore. Not everyones idea of musical progression.

I'd really like to see a proper sound at Beautiful Days like Jah Shaka or King Earthqauke.... No more rave off shots. Proper sounds.

Arthur Brown was unexpectedly the best act of the festie for me. I went along for a laugh and was blown away by the show.

I've been excessing all areas so feel a tad sensitive this morning but it's been a pretty good festival all round.

I've just got to work out the furthest point I can get away from Dreadzone later...

Ground Elder, I came to find you with cookies (didn't make cake this year)... but couldn't see anything but the 24hr cafe and fudge stall in family camping :( my phone's going to die soon, but still want to say ello.
