But surely it's Russia that go through since they have the greater goal difference
greece beat them in the head to head which counts first.
It seems a good way of doing it to me. Surely your result against the team you are level with is a better decider than, for example, how many goals you've scored against the worst team in the group.thats a stupid way of doing it !
I would guess, if it has any effect at all, it'll be good for the non-collaborationist parties.Wow. go Greece!
Wonder if this will have an effect on the greek election? Maybe good for Syriza?
lots of Merkel references on their way...In the qrt finals they'll be playing the winners of group B which most probably will be... Germany!
Bloody hope not I've been stacking up on German players in my fantasy team!it would be like a storyline from a Disney film if they won

it may seem like a good idea but it's not the way it's done. At least goal difference gives an overall measure of performance from the 3 games rather than 1 game where a teams form/luck/refereeing decisions may not go their way.
it's been done like this since at least Euro 2004.it may seem like a good idea but it's not the way it's done.
Tend to agree - except in certain circumstances. One team might beat the whipping boys in the group 3-0, whilst another plays them and said whipping boys get 2 sent off and it becomes an 8-0 rout. But yes goal difference is good in that it at least has the incentive to keep going for it rather than sitting on small leads. Still happy to see the Russians booted out.it may seem like a good idea but it's not the way it's done. Yep. They had one awful decision go against them in each match, tbf. The sending off, the goal given offside, and the pen last night. If anything the luck/refereeing decisions went against Greece in that game last night so deserved winners of the group.
