Apple iPhone and related items (cont.)

I find IMBD less comprehensive than Wiki, personally. If I need to know the cast of a film or TV program, in my experience Wiki is far more likely to have all the information. Also, IMDB just isn’t navigable. Too many dead ends, broken links, and circularity.
I have the opposite experience - never get dead end or broken links - I use the app mind, it's the only app I prefer over the browser version

Ah, I don’t use the app. Is there more info on that? If I want to know if a series has been recommissioned, for example, wiki has that. IMBD (web interface) does not.

For anyone with an iPhone 15 pro, what are you using the action button for? I’ve got it set to do a voice chat with ChatGPT. I’m mainly asking recipes.

I also went to iSmash and got a new battery for my 11 which my Mum now has.

pseudonarcissus if you're in the UK soon, you could consider getting a refurb iphone 13. There's some decent prices right now, and for my money there's not a huge amount of difference except for processing power between the 13 and 15.

Yeah? Still the case/of the same opinion 6 months down the line skyscraper101 ? I'm thinking about going Apple as I use a MacBook and iPad mainly now (at home) and got some airpods recently which work OK with my Pixel but are hobbled (obvs) by using with a Droid.

I’m happy with my choice. It was around a year ago I got a refurb iPhone 13. It still holds up well, and you’d get one even cheaper now. A 14 would be slightly better/more expensive with slight performance increases but nothing to shout about tbh.

Anyone know how much it would cost to get an iPhone screen replaced?
I also need to replace the screen that covers one of the camera lens.

I dunno but nearly £300 is too much.
I'm on a monthly VOXI contract, but still paying for the phone via PayPal Credit
Ah right.

Dunno, I smashed a Samsung and got it done for £140 about 18 months back through wefix.co.uk and I could pay in 3 installments. They came to my house and repaired it in an hour outside in their tech-van

I also need to find a way to protect the screen the next time I drop the phone. I thought a stick-on screen protector would suffice, but nope. And I’ll need to protect the camera lens too.

I always use Tech21 cases for both iPhone and MacBook, after an Apple Store employee told me they were better than any of Apple’s own stuff

Those don’t look like they give full protection.
I have a similar looking case and yet have still managed to smash the screen and a lens cover

I don’t drop my phone often tbh but they do have a kinda ridge that helps protect the screen if you do… mind you I’m still on an iPhone XR and have been for years
