Alan Partridge........

I am not a fan of the movie. Think I’ve posted that here before and it’s been a dissenting view.

The radio show is pretty good particularly the one with the kid who is a spoof of Lauren Harries (I think) there’s also the documentary episode Knowing Knowing Me, Knowing You

I saw Steve Coogan in Dr Strangelove at the Noel Coward theatre this week (he was really excellent, albeit that it’s impossible to see him in anything without in some way experiencing it as Alan Partridge playing the part). I don’t understand how he can be filming a TV series at the same time as appearing nightly on the stage. It must be physically exhausting.

I don’t understand
depends when that was posted...according to this it was recording earlier in the year

Was it good overall? How did it compare with the film?

Yeah, really really good. It’s an excellent translation of the same themes, characters, plot and story beats as the original but taking advantage of the physical presence of a stage show and without attempting to recreate what works only as film.

Regardless of how you rate things as “good” or not in some abstract sense, I’d go so far as to say it might be the stage show I’ve enjoyed the most, ever. Really good fun — funny, thoughtful, intense and with a tonne of charisma.
