exclusive freebie Oasthouse episode as promo for season 3

btw Stratagem for me was broadly funny, some cringe, some naff but it was alan's idea that was naff so funny, and some not very funny really bits too. Overall good but glad I didnt buy a ticket.
One thing though is Ive got Dogoo Man stuck in my head ever since

first time i heard it on Strategem I cringed...second time too...by the end i found it funny

I always thought C4 missed a trick by not having an alternative commentary on all that idiocy. Frankie Boyle or Vic and Bob would've been my first thoughts, but Alan maybe fits in better.

This just appeared on YouTube.

I can't remember seeing it, and it made me laugh esp when her boyfriend was 'carted off', and the little talcum powder detail at the end was perfect.

matter of taste perhaps - stratagum was no less unfunny than earlier live show - its just the format
from the oasthouse and big beacon and scissored isle are all excellent
didnt like this time though, too stessfull

Posted on the masterchef thread. but fuck it. worth a repost here. gregg wallace goes full partridge here. ive been giggling all day, which i needed.

Hate to say it but Patridge is getting less and less good. The live show Stratagem was really unfunny and I feel it needs parking for a while.

I enjoyed seeing it live - dunno how it comes across on video. I also liked 'This Time'.. though didn't realise they'd already done 2 series of it...

The only real dud I think is the movie.

Yeah I agree with Ska. probably said this pages ago or somewhere else. Him as a live show on his own doesn’t work because he’s not interacting with characters. Reacting to daily events or giving you little glimpses into his day-to-day life. Oast House is brilliant. I will definitely watch this.

Alpha Papa? I thought that was terrific.

I think he's at his best on the radio, where he is in his own little world. He tries hard to control all conversations and can block (almost) anyone who disagrees with him.

Partridge returned in 2010 in a series of YouTube shorts, Mid Morning Matters with Alan Partridge, as the host of a digital radio show with a new character, Sidekick Simon (Tim Key).[18] The series was later broadcast by Sky Atlantic.[1] Coogan wrote it with the brothers Neil and Rob Gibbons, who submitted scripts to his company Baby Cow Productions. The Gibbons brothers have co-written every Partridge project since. According to Neil, Coogan "invited us in, our sensibilities chimed ... I think we were like two pairs of fresh eyes, and Steve seemed to fall in love with the character all over again."[1]

Coogan said they chose the web format because "it was a bit underground, a low-key environment in which to test the character out again. And the response was so good, we realised there was more fuel in the tank."[1] In his 2015 autobiography, Coogan wrote that he felt Mid Morning Matters was "the purest, most mature and funniest incarnation of Partridge", which he credited to the Gibbons brothers.[19]

MMM seems to pop up on YouTube now and then, and I think I'm on a mailing list from Baby Cow, not sure.
On The Hour was on radio 4x not long ago. Might be on Listen Again.
