10mp, £55 - too good to be true?

Lord Camomile

Yipchaa!
The Vivitar Vivicam X325 is a 10mp camera and they're only selling it for £55 - it's got to be shite, right?

Only found a couple of reviews other than the two on Amazon, none of which go beyond I liked it/I didn't like it".

I'm planning on investing in a proper digital SLR at some point, but my other two compacts are now both broken so I'm just looking for something fairly simple and cheap to take photos for a website and general out-and-about pics.

So, worth a punt, or should I keep looking?

Looks as if it has a reasonable lens might be a good general purpose camera. Tescos was selling some similar Technika branded old stock 10mp digital compacts in our local store for £39. so it is not unusual to see 10mp cameras at this price. They even had some fairly good brands for around £34 but only 6mp albeit with proper glass looking zoom lenses. For £44 they had an hp camera(5mp I think) and printer!

I've just ordered one because I lost someone else's Olympus the other day

I'll give a full review when it arrives :)

Cheers, but the deal runs out at midnight tonight :(

I don't think I'll risk it - while I'm not looking for anything fancy I also don't want to be stung with a camera that eats batteries and has a shutter lag longer than it takes to paint the picture you're taking
