Disabled People Against Cuts 'week of action' on rights/decent life has begun.

I was going to question how true it is that there have been no big marches called. It is true there have been none specifically about disability but there have been several large general anti-austerity demos, and I would say benefit cuts is a big part of austerity. But I was just having a quick...

...mostly claimants and disabled people themselves. That this week shows the momentum is still going strong is pretty impressive. In that time Atos have been chased out of the WCA, workfare schemes thrown into chaos and eventually scrapped, and various DWP initiatives been abandoned in the...

...when you admit you've done your bit. Why are there so few supporters? Well it's during the week so many people have health appointments, ATOS or MAXIMUS interviews including form filling and preparation, going to post office, supermarket, work, looking after their families, collecting and...

New Social Security benefit cap to hurt hundreds of thousands, including disabled people.

Oh, so you didn't say I would make a good ATOS employee then?

You are free to be offended. But if I was to offer an apology, it would be insincere. So apologies for not apologising.

New Social Security benefit cap to hurt hundreds of thousands, including disabled people.

Then you should be ashamed of yourself, quite frankly, ATOS have been shown to have contributed towards the deaths of (sadly) more than one claimant, and all I did was correct two facts amongst some sensationalist reporting/summarising. If you think my posts are equivalent to being hounded to...

Disappointed and surprised you come out with this. What next, telling a legal observer they'd make a good cop?

New Social Security benefit cap to hurt hundreds of thousands, including disabled people.

Given the (justifiably) rough ride ATOS and their ilk get on here, that's a pretty bloody awful accusation to make. Especially since what equationgirl seems to be currently involved in doing is to temper some of the more frantically uncontrolled rhetoric with some actual facts. That doesn't...

Fuck you. This was my research area, and i 'd appreciate an apology for such a nasty comment - nowhere have i stated I disbelieve the story, only certain inaccurate aspects of the reporting.

So organise one, facebook, easy. Bring spikes or placards if you wish. Good on you for being around to help, much respect. As a carer i've seen too many victims of such neglect. If i didnt have a boy relying on me i might have been well up for yon murder spree.

New Social Security benefit cap to hurt hundreds of thousands, including disabled people.

Not exactly the above but my old pensioner mother with arthritis and diabetes recently visited an Atos assessment centre before her DLA comes to an end. I had to tell her they're not there to help. I don't live with her but my housing costs are miniscule (lucky to have a mortgage and that'll be...

Atos Medicals - Questions, Answers and Support

Just gathering some info to send with the reconsideration and looked on google maps at the assessment center. According to ATOS I was observed walking 55M from the waiting room to the assessment room, which was virtually a straight line apart from a short dog leg. Google maps say the building is...

    Jeremy Corbyn's time is up

...that brought us the Iraq War, developed the PFI, failed to renationalise rail, increased the gap between rich and poor, deregulated the financial sector, kept the anti-union laws, allowed tax dodging by the super rich, launched ATOS on us and expanded private prisons. Why was that Saint Jeremy?'

Couldn't agree more. Those who most need help and support should not be abandoned to the wolves like the DWP and ATOS are keen to do. The cockweaselly arsetrumpets that they are.

So relieved, but we really could have done without the wait. If ATOS had done a proper assessment and if the DWP had read the claim properly in the first place, none of the stress and reduction in income need have happened.
