Interesting post from the imdb boards. Puts it in a bit of perspective. Sounds like Bales rant was the end of a number of incidents by Hurlburt.
Greetings IMBDers!
I have had the displeasure of working with Mr. Hurlbut on 2 productions, and in both cases I was extremely put off by his...

"For 20 minutes it was a going away party, then something blows up so everyone runs down to the street and starts yelling about what to do, then something blows up and everyone runs into a building and starts yelling about what to do, then they decide to go find their friend...
Thats strange. Why was it done, for time?
I think that scene where claire tells her mother she walked through fire and her mother misunderstands, begins laying the ground work for their relationship.
I vote for "The Andromeda Strain". The apparatus in the lab in that film was the real deal borrowed from the manufacturers in a lot of cases. Obviously the basic premise was a load of hokum - crystaline lifeforms? pah! Overall it was fairly convincing though.
One disturbing thing is the...
I'm liking that. They clearly pulled that one right out of their arses. Well done.
I especially like the bit about her "once almost" cheating on him - ooh, the drama. :D
If you look up something in say 1988 on imdb and click on the year you can then narrow down a serch on the left handside "by country".
From there you can see everythign made in the UK in that year - but mainly its TV shows wo its hard to spot what really went on.

Another good one is Dr Haing S Ngor in the Killing Fields, who out acts the entire cast of professionals, including Sam Waterston, John Malkovich and Julian Sands. For once justice was served and he got an oscar for it.
Supposedly though, he had lived through pretty...

however from the user review:
"LAST HOUSE ON DEAD END STREET is a film I could never recommend to anyone with a clear conscience. It would be like condemning them to the rack, as this film can be seen as a form of torture. I...
Its a film that shouldn't have any 'stars' as such. It would deflect too much away from the story.
Maybe the odd Willam H Macey type at a push.
I hope Night owl is cast well. I bet they do a pretty boy for him too.
CSA is not really a documentary, though. It's an alternate history spoof. I rather enjoyed it.
Anyhow, some suggestions:
Joy Division - I accidentally got this 2007 documentary about the band instead of the 2006 feature film, but it was rather enjoyable all the same. Slickly put together...
To be honest, alternative histories should at least be viable - CSA seemed just to transpose the condition of blacks in 1850s' era south America to the present time.
Cheers for the others, I'm assembling a lovefilm list and most of those will be on it.
