Would it be any less smug if they just gave a sheet of paper written in ordinary English? I'm trying to work out what exactly constitutes the smugness.
They're a weird lot, the TED people. They like their events to be very orchestrated and - in my case - asked to see the speech in advance. They didn't like it much when I told then on the day that I told them I was going to talk about something else and then went about criticising them from the stage. All the people involved were nice individuals though.
