It’s an excellent idea. If fringe parties without much hope of Westminster representation (Greens? Reform?) put it in their manifestos for cheap points, perhaps Labour would be forced to follow suit.
'Support' can just mean 'be in favour of'. You know this right?
Anyway, it's grandstanding. Sounds good, how could you not be in favour of it, means nothing. No politician will ever be stopped from lying, let alone prosecuted, if any such law is passed.
A defence would be that the statement could reasonably be inferred to be opinion, belief or future intention rather than a statement of fact.
