Would it be some kind of security issue to ask which temp agencies are used by different London companies?

For example, if I fancied seeing inside Canary Wharf or the Lloyds building or the Gherkin, which temp agencies should I join to work in those places?
And yes, I understand I would be background checked up to the eyeballs. :)

You've got a digger, just travellodge your way in. Regarding your OH's situation, a while back when I was looking for jobs I signed up for a website called Totally Legal that posts legal sector jobs, and I'm not looking for work now, but I still always enjoy getting their emails just because Totally Legal is such a shady-sounding name for a website.

Thanks, hitmouse, he's now applied for a couple of admin roles. :) Foots in doors.

I've been in the Gherkin - it's a great office building. I was genuinely impressed how fancy it was.

Is it great to look around or genuinely great for the office workers there? I personally find open plan office layouts and hot-desking an utter hellhole that can make otherwise perfectly reasonable jobs a nightmare that it is difficult to endure!

Not sure what it's like to work there, but the design and layout looked really good. Didn't get to go the rooftop thing, sadly.

I would contact specific companies and ask which agencies they use (hint for interview: say you've always wanted to work for them rather than you want to work in a particular building...)

For law; take a look at legal cheek / roll on Friday and see if any mentions of agencies. I worked for a city law firm briefly in a business services department but I came through an HR agency not a legal one.
