Will it Go to Penalties on Sunday? Place Your Bets!?

Well, the team have been practicing penalties....

Will it go to penalties - place your bets - NOW !!

Watching England play football, they never exactly make it a relaxing time for their supporters so I guess based on that it will go to penalties and then it will be in the hands of the gods.

And all of England will be on the edge of their seats, close to a coronary....

Hopefully before that there would at least be a few goals to give people a fillup!

No penalties this time. About two minutes before the match FIFA will announce a rule change whereby if at the close of play there is a draw, then a new game starts on something similar to the Golden Ball principle, whereby the game ends when one side gets a goal. To speed things up both sides have to send the goalies off leaving open goals. If after half an hour of this, no side has scored then both sides are disqualified from the rest of the World Cup for this year and the next World Cup.

:)

Yes, what happenned to the golden goal ....

Is it no more?

Do they go 90 mins and then straight to penalties or is there more play?

Indeed, it would be nice to win on goals inside the 90 minutes ....

But the Germans are worthy adversaries, and there is the history!

England haven't exactly got a great record with winning on penalties, and then there's the German factor, but not to worry, they're wearing their lucky red shirts so all is well :hmm::D

they got rid of it because teams were so terrified of conceding that it made extra time incredibly dull and a waste of time.

I can't see it going to penalties, because i think Germany will murder England. I hope i'm wrong.

12/1 for a win in extra time (same odds for both Germany and England)

I fancy the youthful Germans on that.

More importantly, what's going to be the soundtrack to England getting knocked out? In 2004 it was Dry Your Eyes by the Streets,in 2002 it was Stop Crying Your Heart Out. What miserable crap's in the charts at the moment?

And the only one near a winner is Hocus Eye...
