Who else worships Chicago house?

nice tune...i need to check out more Roy Davis Jr tunes...only know Gabrielle
Book a week off and delve into this label/distributor (and its sublabels):
- plenty of RDJ material but so much more too (such as Felix Da Housecat and Mark The 909 King)
Was my fave house label in the mid 90s

So apparently Kerri Chandler gave away a load of his stuff a couple of years back and some kind soul has saved it for distribution via google drive.

Obviously exercise caution and I accept no responsibility if your computer turns into a Russian bot farm but it worked for me and nothing we....Меня зовут Мандли

have ploughed through these
only found one tune tbh that im really feeling ...love this though

(though also in there is Set It Off, Kerris first tune IIRC under the Three Generations name, a personal all time all time classic (1990 business), one of the first tunes to get me into electronic dance music)

There’s a bit of a ding dong between DJ Pierre and Marshall Jefferson in the comments here, with Pierre taking issue with Jefferson’s claim in the video that he ‘produced’ Acid Trax:

Definitely the best one yet!
They need to do one with Frankie Bones & Beltram!

I never really got into house, much preferring techno and other sounds, but I started to dig back recently and have been really enjoying it. I think I prefer it for home/chilling music.

Listened to this today and I'll be buying it.

Peak GU that for me, it’s got his trademark musicality and keys all over but it’s still thumping, nicely overdriven drums etc, he got a lot noodlier later on

I absolutely love Chicago house. The first I heard was a compilation and my gateway to electronic music, thought it was all shit before. Wish I knew which compilation it was. Used to rinse Ralph Rosario's I Used to Hold You and House Nation is one of my all-time favourite tunes.
From all those classics through to other favourites like Larry Heard, Tyree Cooper and Cashmere, so good.
Unlike my other musical loves, Detroit house and deep techno, you can't seem to go anywhere and dance to these sounds. Not sure why, do the older Chicago guys not get around as much as the Detroit ones or is the sound really a thing of the past as I don't keep up with current music?

I remember seeing one or two of the greats years ago and not enjoying it that much, he played a song with the lyrics 'jesus is the answer, Jesus is the way'. I think it was Farley, not good.
Saw Tyree Cooper and it was amazing, probably about 17 years ago tho.
So yeah, not a scene here for it, wonder if there is in the US.

I think early 80s Chicago is mostly what we think of as a chicago sound, and that's old stuff.... by the mid 90s the Chicago sound was very different ...and also passed on... And I couldn't say what the modern identity is. Was footwork big there?

I think most of the house cats are just part of the bigger US house scene rather than with a particular identity
??

Whereas Detroit is much more of a genre.

There's still acid house of course but it's not really a Chicago thing

Yeah, the 80s stuff is really old now, I get that. But the stuff after it was just as unique a sound as Detroit has, but somehow it hasn't persisted in the same way. Why has Detroit managed to stay it's own genre true to a particular sound but 90s Chicago not?
Well I wish some djs would throw some of these great records into their sets. Even 6hrs of Theo in it's eclectic nature didn't have any. He did play an acid track but I don't much like acid house.
