Where's The Lid to My Slow Cooker?

We've lost the top, the lid, to our slow cooker. We can find the lid to the rice cooker, various pans etc.. but not the slow cooker?

We've checked under the sink and in the utility room. Not there.

Where is it? And can I improvise something so that I can use the slow cooker while i continue the search and before I have to fork out for a replacement?

You can probably improvise with anything that won't shatter from the heat and is the right size/shape to cover the top but not too big so there's an overhang and it drips condensation everywhere. Plate / other pan lid / pyrex baking dish or something? If I had something not quite big enough I'd probably try building a lid extension around it with a load of kitchen foil.
