What's missing from my camping list?

Have you missed off a washing up bowl?

I would pack a few more plates, a few plastic tumblers and at least another saucepan.

I would also sack the sleeping bag in favour of sheets and a duvet.

I bought magnetic travel backgammon a few years back that has served me well through many trips.

plasters
antiseptic
bandage

ah yes - first aid kit - we went a bit bonkers when we went to SE Asia and have a v. comprehensive kit which we never used (although we did end up in hospital and at the doctors - almost requiring emergency surgery...) - so our kit is intact!!

Yes - the duvet is tempting as the sleeping bags are not the biggest and at the moment I'm a bit big and getting bigger...

Some lightweight, loose-weave, cheap muslin teatowels serve a variety of purposes not the least of which is mopping up and drying but also for straining boiled stuff like pasta, rice, potatoes, veg etc...

Tea lights/candles... Citronella prob best for outdoors living..
Teatowels and you havent put your toiletries on there have you?
Small sandwich bags or a couple of tubs for left overs.
Are you taking your pregnancy notes? Maybe a photocopy, just in case you get poorly...

I am totally jealous, have a wicked time :)

yes teatowels added - candles too (may as well - just discovered some of those stick in the ground torch candle things after clearing up my balcony). Tupperware - good one.

(toiletries/clothing etc) I have a separate list which i've not posted

cheers

:)

Just a suggestion as it would help ME! when it comes to c&P, and also people thinking of things for you; could you add the suggestions you like to the orginal list?

we just boiught an excellent portable BBQ in Waitrose called a Notebook (I think). It comes flat (and very thin) and just folds outwards like a magazine rack or whatever and you slot the grill trays into it which gives it shape. Really compact but a decent size cooking surface.

Sounds good! This right?

We were going to get one of those little inverted wok lid type things - mainly its so we can have fires in campsites where they don't let you have fires iykwim - so we can sit around some naked flame in the evening. I guess we will use it for cooking too though. If we have a chance to go to Waitrose we'll take a look.

At this stage though, we may be doing any extra shopping as we go...

(which reminds me - I need a bucket with a lid... :D)
