I saw about a week ago that hospitals in D&G has banned visitors except for end of life, kids, Psychiatric units....

Aye, I was outdoors for ages Monday evening in a skiing town in the Austrian Alps in just a t-shirt and hoody. Didn't need thermals or even a jacket the entire time I was there.

Got as far north as Edinburgh this morning and I had to crack out the winter gear while I was still on the train.

We've only had a very small amount of snow. Here's the current view from the chair anyway.

The Corgarff weather station is still AWOL:



And it is -4c with me and all the snow is white ice by now and expected to go lower still tonight. Further north, Altnaharra was-14 by 5pm, which could mean nearer -20 overnight.

-7 here last night and Altnaharra and nearby Kinbrace hit -17/-18 respectively.

-20 was recorded at Duthil near Carrbridge.

Pretty balmy here now just outside Edinburgh. We still had snow on the ground last night but this morning it was all gone.

It has gone from -20 at Carrbridge a few nights ago to 13c on the Moray coast, just a few miles away. Apparently that makes it the warmest place in Europe today..!

WTF - Don’t think I’ve seen those at my local store. I think people could be utterly forgiven for shoplifting and destroying them..!

And it is back to a more normal winter temp now - crisp and frosty but not iced-up yet.
