What's it like in Scotland now?

As you Scotishers know, Scotshire is my favourite happy place.

When I think of Christmas I think of snow blanketed glens and lochs; roaring fires in remote pubs with streams outside, whisky and deer, and the drive from Edinburgh to Glencoe is one of the finest in the world.

Is it snowing up there? Can I have some pictures?

I’ve only had to scrape my windscreen one morning. It’s been unnaturally mild so far.

I’m not fit for being out and about at the moment but here in Glasgow it’s a bright day, very few clouds. Altocumulus, from where I’m sitting. But mostly blue sky.

Sunny and cold in Edinburgh. Ice on the pavements this morning.

Wet, sleety, 35-40mph hail on and off earlier here. Now it's just dreich.

Had a bit of proper snow in November.

There is a bitter wind. I was up at the graveyard earlier but didn't linger for a chat. The wind is so bitter there they didnt put windows on the north wall of the church. Also in the woods this morning but didn't take photos.

And from the garden. No snow. Though I think there were 3 tiny flakes earlier.

A dusting of snow on the Ochils. The bigger hills further back such as Ben Vorlich and Ben Ledi have more snow on them (zoom in to the left of the photo to see).

As ever, I suspect the best snow is up Aviemore/Kingussie way.

Alternatively, have you considered the south of Spain?
