What wedding favours can I make in advance?

I've got some pretty bags like this:

Rather than putting sugared almonds in them, I'd like to make something. I'm making 50 of them, so it can't be too complicated. And I'd like to be able to make them well in advance so that I have no last-minute panics.

Any ideas?

I made 100 wine charms with heart shaped beads for my friends wedding last May. People seemed to like the fact that they could take them home and have them, as a permanent reminder :)

She also put those red fortune telling fish in the favour boxes - they were great fun.

I've made cookies for peoples wedding favours before :) they had a butterfly theme so I made butterfly cookies, and then cos the bride liked all things glittery decorated them with edible glitter :)

But how far in advance can I make them?

I like the idea of the wine charms Madz - got any instructions, or a link to somewhere with them?

I could make biscuits too.

You could make fudge, that stuff keeps for a good while in an airtight container (unless it's within 30 feet of me ).

we bought sticks of rock and then printed stickers with the date and our names on which we then put in the wrapping around the rock.

Unfortunately, I've bought the favour bags now, so CDs and sticks of rock won't fit. The bags are about 7cm square.

I bought pink and red heart shaped jelly beans and filled bags with those but the cookie and wine charm ideas sound fab.

My mate gave everyone a tulip bulb wrapped in glittery paper, it was her favourite tulip and it bllomed in May - a year after the wedding - if you planted it in the autumn.

At another mate's wedding, they made 2 lots of flavoured vodka ( jellybean flavour and chocolate flavour) because his nickname is Jellybelly and she has beautiful chocolate coloured skin and a fetish for smothering herself in cocoa butter so she always smells choclatey. We all got little minatures and some jellybeans as well, it was very cute.

I'm collecting beer bottle tops atm to make jewellery with - maybe you could make a little picture inside bottle tops (including wedding date etc - or just of a love heart) and then fill it with a bit of resin or podwered heat activated enamel to give it a glossy finish?

I dunno - I'm trying to think small :D

How about some little cross stitch samplers with your names and date?

I've just measured a little coaster with a cross stitch flower that a friend made for me - unfortunately it's 9cm but maybe you can get smaller ones, or maybe a small paperweight.

Good idea re the beer bottle tops madz!
