Hey now now now now now
Hey now na na hey
Hey now now now now now
Hey now na na hey
Hey now now now now now

You're not as old as the trees
Not as young as the leaves
You're not as free as the breeze
Not as open as the sea

And your heart hasn't found a home
Endlessly it seems to roam
One day you will find inexhaustable ecstacy
And you will see
That you're beautiful and always have been
And everybody else can see
The love that you've been looking for
Is right there inside your door

Little Miss Divinity
You're the one that you've been looking for
Little Miss Divinity
Won't you lay your love on thee?

Hey now now now now now
Hey now na na hey
Hey now now now now now
Hey now na na hey

If you need a friend then I'll be sailing right by your side
But if you need a lover you must leave it all behind
And if you need direction, the world can seem unkind
So listen closely my love
You have time
You're doing fine

Hey now now now now now
Hey now na na hey
Hey now now now now now
Hey now na na hey
Hey now now now now now
Hey now na na hey
Hey now now now now now
Hey now na na hey

O Freunde, nicht diese Töne!
Sondern laßt uns angenehmere
anstimmen und freudenvollere.
Freude! Freude!

Freude, schöner Götterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium,
Wir betreten feuertrunken,
Himmlische, dein Heiligtum!
Deine Zauber binden wieder
Was die Mode streng geteilt;
Alle Menschen werden Brüder,
Wo dein sanfter Flügel weilt.

Wem der große Wurf gelungen,
Eines Freundes Freund zu sein;
Wer ein holdes Weib errungen,
Mische seinen Jubel ein!
Ja, wer auch nur eine Seele
Sein nennt auf dem Erdenrund!
Und wer's nie gekonnt, der stehle
Weinend sich aus diesem Bund!

Freude trinken alle Wesen
An den Brüsten der Natur;
Alle Guten, alle Bösen
Folgen ihrer Rosenspur.
Küße gab sie uns und Reben,
Einen Freund, geprüft im Tod;
Wollust ward dem Wurm gegeben,
Und der Cherub steht vor Gott.

Froh, wie seine Sonnen fliegen
Durch des Himmels prächt'gen Plan,
Laufet, Brüder, eure Bahn,
Freudig, wie ein Held zum Siegen.

Seid umschlungen, Millionen!
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Brüder, über'm Sternenzelt
Muß ein lieber Vater wohnen.
Ihr stürzt nieder, Millionen?
Ahnest du den Schöpfer, Welt?
Such' ihn über'm Sternenzelt!
Über Sternen muß er wohnen.

Finale repeats the words:
Seid umschlungen, Millionen!
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Brüder, über'm Sternenzelt
Muß ein lieber Vater wohnen.
Seid umschlungen,
Diesen Kuß der ganzen Welt!
Freude, schöner Götterfunken
Tochter aus Elysium,
Freude, schöner Götterfunken

Er... that's Beethoven's adaptation of Schiller's Ode an die Freude for the 9th symphony btw. Been listening to a lot of classical music recently, concerts are great - you can get fucked on K and no-one notices  :p. Anyway, nothing beats a good symphony orchestra for power and layers.

The minstrel boy to the war has gone,
In the ranks of death you'll find him;
His father's sword he hath girded on,
And his wild harp slung behind him;

"Land of Song!" cried the warrior bard,
(Should) "Tho' all the world betrays thee,
One sword, at least, thy rights shall guard,
One faithful harp shall praise thee!"

The Minstrel fell! But the foeman's chain
Could not bring that proud soul under;
The harp he lov'd ne'er spoke again,
For he tore its chords asunder;

And said "No chains shall sully thee,
Thou soul of love and brav'ry!
Thy songs were made for the pure and free
They shall never sound in slavery!

Anyone who's ever had a heart
Wouldn't turn around and break it
And anyone who's ever played a part
Wouldn't turn around and hate it

Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
You're waiting
For Jimmy down in the alley
Waiting there
For him to come back home
Waiting down on the corner
And thinking of ways
To get back home

Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
Anyone who's ever had a dream
Anyone who's ever played a part
Anyone who's ever been lonely
And anyone who's ever split apart

Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
Heavenly widened roses
Seem to whisper to me
When you smile
Heavenly widened roses
Seem to whisper to me
When you smile

La la la la, la la la,

Sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane

at last it started in the middle

beginning as it all begins, it forsook the source of things.

and that which moved flowed over that which stayed, it made the choice to form a standing wave.

it leaned the out against the in, unfolding in a place to call its own.

and it gently draped six senses over this house of cards that it built, and opened ground to the roots of touch and let them in.

incredible sensations

it was the insatiable feeling of a feeling of insatiable desire.

and all that it could do was hold tight to that that it was not.

it told itself it needed names and in so doing it became.

this is the birth that everyone is always talking about. the one assumed but not remembered.

but death does not forget.
the end will remind it to cure it of itself.

allegedly about buddhism. and beautiful background projections :)

When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.
If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.
You'll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.
I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride,
Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.
Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera Chuck & Dave
Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away
Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

gouge away
you can gouge away
stay all day
if you want to

missy aggravation
some sacred questions
you stroke my locks
some marijuana
if you got some

gouge away
you can gouge away
stay all day
if you want to

sleeping on your belly
you break my arms
you spoon my eyes
been rubbing a bad charm
with holy fingers

gouge away
you can gouge away
stay all day
if you want to

chained to the pillars
a 3-day party
i break the walls
and kill us all
with holy fingers

gouge away
you can gouge away
stay all day
if you want to

Hey, Eddie, can you lend me a few bucks
And tonight can you get us a ride
Gotta make it through the tunnel
Got a meeting with a man on the other side

Hey Eddie, this guy, he's the real thing
So if you want to come along
You gotta promise you won't say anything
'Cause this guy don't dance
And the word's been passed this is our last chance

We gotta stay cool tonight, Eddie
'Cause man, we got ourselves out on that line
And if we blow this one
They ain't gonna be looking for just me this time

And all we gotta do is hold up our end
Here stuff this in your pocket
It'll look like you're carrying a friend
And remember, just don't smile
Change your shirt, 'cause tonight we got style

Well Cherry says she's gonna walk
'Cause she found out I took her radio and hocked it
But Eddie, man, she don't understand
That two grand's practically sitting here in my pocket

And tonight's gonna be everything that I said
And when I walk through that door
I'm just gonna throw that money on the bed
She'll see this time I wasn't just talking
Then I'm gonna go out walking

Hey Eddie, can you catch us a ride?

I saw her standin' on her front lawn just twirlin' her baton
Me and her went for a ride sir and ten innocent people died

From the town of Lincoln Nebraska with a sawed off .410 on my lap
Through to the badlands of Wyoming I killed everything in my path

I can't say that I'm sorry for the things that we done
At least for a little while sir me and her we had us some fun

The jury brought in a guilty verdict and the judge he sentenced me to death
Midnight in a prison storeroom with leather straps across my chest

Sheriff when the man pulls that switch sir and snaps my poor head back
You make sure my pretty baby is sittin' right there on my lap

They declared me unfit to live said into that great void my soul'd be hurled
They wanted to know why I did what I did
Well sir I guess there's just a meanness in this world

From Monument To Masses - Deafening

Silence dissolves all objects. It is not related to any counterpart which belongs to the mind. Silence has nothing to do with mind. It cannot be defined but it can be felt directly because it is our nearness.
Silence is restriction. it is feeling without a feeler. silence needs no intermediary. sound which comes from silence. is music
(adaption of Jean Klien http://home.clara.net/b.doyle/yoga-silence.htm)

Within these four walls only a number exists
Which does not progress
Which slowly will wish more and more for death
But suddenly my conscience awakes
And I see this tide with no heartbeat
Only the pulse of machines
And the military showing their midwives' faces
Full of sweetness

How much humanity
exposed to hunger, cold, panic, pain,
moral pressures, terror and insanity?
What horror the face of fascism creates!
They carry out their plans with knife-like precision.
To them, blood equals medals,
slaughter is an act of heroism.
How hard it is to sing
when I must sing of horror.
Horror which I am living.
Horror which I am dying.
To see myself among so much horror
and so many moments of infinity
in which silence and screams
are the end of my song.
(from an unfinished song by Victor Jara http://www.rattapallax.com/fusebox_04chile4.htm)

At the dark end of the street

that is where we always meet
hiding in shadows where we don't belong
living in darkness, to hide alone
You and me, at the dark end of the street
You and me

I know a time has gonna take it's toll
we have to pay for the love we stole
It's a sin and we know it's wrong
Oh, our love keeps going on strong
Steal away to the dark end of the street
You and me
They gonna find us, they gonna find us
They gonna find us love someday
You and me, at the dark end of the street
You and me

When the daylight all goes around
And by chance we're both down the town
Please meet, just walk, walk on by
Oh, darling, please don't you cry
You and me, at the dark end of the street
You and me

I will say it again
I don't think you're in control
What proof do you have
That this is the right way

You know she's thinking about you
Don't push her away
Listen to yourself
You never used to talk that way

The scars will never go
I think you made your point
A cry for help
Was that your intention

When I saw you there in the shadow of the setting sun
When I saw you there in the shadow of the setting sun
You looked so beautiful
You looked so beautiful

When I saw you there I couldn't resist your tender kiss
When I saw you there I couldn't resist your warm caress

You had so much to give
You had your time to live
Christfuck christfuck

I will bring us through this

As always I will carry you kicking and screaming
And in the end you will thank me

You had your time to live

Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ
Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ
Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ Christ

Christfuck

In London city where I did dwell
A butcher boy, I loved right well
He courted me, my life away
But now with me, he will not stay

I wish, I wish, I wish in vain
I wish I was a maid again
A maid again I ne'er will be
'Till cherries grow on an apple tree

I wish my baby it was born
And smiling on its daddy's knee
And me poor girl to be dead and gone
With the long green grass growing over me

She went upstairs to go to bed
And calling to her mother said
"Give me a chair 'till I sit down
And a pen and ink 'till I write down"

At every word she dropped a tear
And at every line cried "Willie dear -
Oh, what a foolish girl was I
To be led astray by a butcher boy"

He went upstairs and the door he broke
He found her hanging from a rope
He took his knife and he cut her down
And in her pocket, these words he found

Oh, make my grave large, wide and deep
Put a marble stone at my head and feet
And in the middle, a turtle dove
That the world may know, that I died for love

Just a few weeks ago my ex borrowed my Journey CD Box Set to burn this & a few other songs & now here it is on the season finale of The Sopranos.

Don't Stop Believin'
- Journey

Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere

A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on

CHORUS:
Strangers, waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

CHORUS

Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
Streetlight people

My name is casanova
I'm basically a man
I have the head of a wolf
The appetite of an entire land
This song is going out to the girls
You're all looking fucking fine
Baby spread those shaking legs
Because I'm feeling fucking hungry tonight
I like to feed on broken hearts
There ain't no taste like lovers falling apart

If i offer to buy you a drink
Trust me when i say it's non-alcoholic
You're no good to me if you can't even speak
I don't want you passing out i want you sucking my dick
If i offer to buy you a drink
Trust me when i say it's non-alcoholic
I want you to wake up and remember my name
When you're washing my cum off your fucking face

My name is casanova
I'm basically a man
I have the head of a wolf
The appetite of an entire land
This song is going out to the girls
You're all looking well buff
I'm sick of all this long term shit
I just wanna fuck

My name is casanova
I'm nothing but a beast
Baby the way you're shaking those hips
Has got me ready for a fucking feast
This song is going out to the girls
I want to feel your body close against mine
Why waste time with conversation
When we can fuck for the rest of our lives

The hardest thing you'll ever learn
Is just to love and be loved in return

oh the joys of mp3s set to random

Can you hear it in the distance
Can you sense it far away
Is it old Rudolph the reindeer
Is it Santa on his sleigh
It's heading up to Easington
It's coming down the Tyne
Oh it's bloddy Maggie Thatcher
And Michael Heseltine

chorus:
So merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher
May God's love be with you
We all sing together in one breath
Merry Christmas Maggie Thatcher
We all celebrate today
'Cause it's one day closer to your death

They've come to raid your stockings
And to steal your Christmas pud
But don't be too downhearted
It's all for your own good
The economic infrastructure
Must be swept away
To make way for call centres
And lower rates of pay

[repeat chorus]

And they've brought their fascist boot boys
And they've brought the boys in blue
And the whole Trade Union Congress
Will be at the party too
And they'll all hold hands together
All standing in a line
'Cause they're privatising Santa
This merry Christmas time

[repeat chorus]

[repeat chorus]

Oh my darling, oh my darling, oh my darling Heseltine
You're a tosser, you're a tosser
And you're just a Tory Swine

Thousands of people are queueing in the rain to meet the Pope
(Meet the Pope, meet the Pope, meet the Pope)
I wonder what they're feeling
Well I hope its O.K.
You know some people gonna call anyone a big mouth
(Big mouth, big mouth)
Yeah, well I'll see them in the bar on a Saturday
Right now I get along, get along, get along, get alonga get along
Just like a southern Mark Smith

Chorus:

Whooo, ooo, ooo, ooo - Yeah, like a southern Mark Smith
Whooo, ooo, ooo, ooo - Southern Mark Smith
Thousands of people are queueing for a shuttle into space
(Into space, into space, into space)
Yeah, I'm into space I think its just fantastic
Right now I'm looking around for the right words
For all you special gorgeous things
Oh, don't you know they only make those frisbies out of plastic?

Hey, but you know what they tell you on the BBC
You know what they tell you and it's plain to see
You gotta put on you best friend's anorak
And come out here and try it out for yourself

Whooo, ooo, ooo, ooo
You gotta come on out at 1 o'clock and try it out for yourself
Whooo, ooo, ooo, ooo
You gotta walk & talk & think & look & act just like a
Southern Mark Smith

Chorus

Thousands of people out there just gotta be O.K.
I wish I could take them all down with me to the bar for some laughs
But right now I gotta find out where they could be living
They could be living in sin
They could be carrying shame
Gotta find somebody's gonna carry the blame
Gotta find out what makes your heart sing
Because I found out already what makes my heart sing
Its necessary that I find out what makes your heart sing
'Coz I heard it was like a southern Mark Smith

ooh rollinder - what's that? :)

never look her in the eyes
never tell the truth
if she knows your paper
you know she'll have to burn you

never tell the one you want that you do
save it for the deathbed
when you know you kept her wanting you

and do everything she'd never do

fall asleep with stranger's wives
the wild wives of unknown men
good for you, you've just become
just another one of them

never say you miss her
never say a word

and do everything she'd never do

don't let her see your cardinal eyes
don't let her see your cardinal eyes

let her treat you like a criminal
so you can treat her like a priest
girls forgive my human mind
girls forgive me one more time

never tell the one you love that you do
save it for the deathbed

and do everything she'd never do

don't let her see your cardinal eyes
don't let her see your cardinal eyes

jesus christ you have confused me
cornered, wasted, blessed and used me
forgive me girls i am confused
stiff and pissed and lost and loose

jesus christ you have confused me
cornered, wasted, blessed and used me
forgive me girls i am confused
stiff and pissed and lost and loose

fuck you Urban - it's your fault this song was lurking amongst my mp3s

waiting to catch me unawares  :(

I went out shopping last saturday
I was getting some gear, and this guy offered to pay
Who's the hunk? I think to myself
For so many years I've been left on the shelf
An old boiler

Then we went walking back down the high street
And I felt so proud because he looked so neat
He was a real hard man, tough as they come
He said I was cool but I still felt like
An old boiler

He bid me "Come out", how could I say no?
He said "Meet me at eight round my place, you know"
With my new gear on, and a blow dried hair-do
But in my mind I knew I was sill
An old boiler

We danced all night long to a nice steady beat
But my hair went to frizz in the terrible heat
My mascara ran, and so did my tights
Confirming in my sight, I must be
An old boiler

So we came out this club, hot and sweaty
Because we'd been dancing all night
And he says to me "Well babe, what you doing then?"
"Well I think I might get a cab" I said casually
"Nah nah, come back to my place, I only live just round the corner
You can go home in the morning, yeah?"
"Well I don't think so, I've only known you a day, It' a bit soon innit
Give me a ring sometime yeah?"
But then he starts to get mad
"Listen here girl, I bought that gear you got on, I paid you in here tonight
I bought you all them drinks and you wanna go home, I should bleedin coco"
And then he stormed off

Well, I felt a right mug, well you would wouldn't you
So I ran after him, caught him up
And here we are walking down this street about a hundred miles per hour
Arm in arm, no talking, atmosphere you could have cut with a knife

There's no-one about, nothing to take your mind off it you know
No cars, not even the occasional stray animal
It was cold and the wind's whistling through the tree's
Blowing newspapers accross my legs so I tripped as I tried to keep up with him
And there was all these alleyways and railway bridges, the stink of piss

The all of a sudden he grabbed hold of my arm
And he starts to drag me up one of these alleyways
Then he starts to hit me really hard across the face, you know
He was hitting me and grabbing at me
It was awful because he was, like, so big
Hitting me he was, and tearing at my clothes
There was nothing I could do honest, I was helpless
And then he tried to rape me, and there was nothing I could do, honest
All I could do was scream, no...

Joe Hill come over from Sweden shores
Looking for some work to do
And the Statue of Liberty waved him by
As Joe come a sailing through, Joe Hill
As Joe come a sailing through.

Oh his clothes were coarse and his hopes were high
As he headed for the promised land
And it took a few weeks on the out-of-work streets
Before he began to understand
Before he began to understand

And Joe got hired by a bowery bar
sweeping up the saloon
As his rag would sail over the baroom rail
Sounded like he whistled on a tune
You could almost hear him whistling on a tune

And Joe rolled on from job to job
From the docks to the railroad line
And no matter how hungry the hand that wrote
In his letters he was always doing fine
In his letters he was always doing fine

Oh, the years went by like the sun goin' down
slowly turn the page
And when Joe looked back at the sweat upon his tracks
He had nothing to show but his age
He had nothing to show but his age
So he headed out for the California shore
There things were just as bad
So he joined the industrial workers of the world'
Cause, The union was the only friend he had'
Cause, The union was the only friend he had

Now the strikes were bloody and the strikes were black
as hard as they were long
In the dark of night Joe would stay awake and write
In the morning he would raise them with a song
In the morning he would raise them with a song

And he wrote his words to the tunes of the day
To be passed along the union vine
And the strikes were led and the songs were spread
And Joe Hill was always on the line
Yes Joe Hill was always on the line

Now in Salt Lake City a murder was made
There was hardly a clue to find
Oh, the proof was poor, but the sheriff was sure
Joe was the killer of the crime
That Joe was the killer of the crime
Joe raised his hands but they shot him down
he had nothing but guilt to give
It's a doctor I need and they left him to bleed
He made it 'cause he had the will to live
Yes, He made it 'cause he had the will to live

Then the trial was held in a building of wood
And there the killer would be named
And the days weighed more than the cold copper ore
Cause he feared that he was being framed
Cause he found out that he was being framed

Oh, strange are the ways of western law
Strange are the ways of fate
For the government crawled to the mine owner's call
That the judge was appointed by the state
Yes, The judge was appointed by the state

Oh, Utah justice can be had
But not for a union man
And Joe was warned by summer early morn
That there'd be one less singer in the land
There'd be one less singer in the land

Now William Spry was Governor Spry
And a life was his to hold
On the last appeal, fell a governor's tear
May the lord have mercy on your soul
May the lord have mercy on your soul

Even President Wilson held up the day
But even he would fail
For nobody heard the soul searching words
Of the soul in the Salt Lake City jail
Of the soul in the Salt Lake City jail

For 36 years he lived out his days
And he more than played his part
For his songs that he made,
he was carefully paid
With a rifle bullet buried in his heart
With a rifle bullet buried in his heart

Yes, they lined Joe Hill up against the wall
Blindfold over his eyes
It's the life of a rebel that he chose to live
It's the death of a rebel that he died
It's the death of a rebel that he died

Now some say Joe was guilty as charged
And some say he wasn't even there
And I guess nobody will ever know
'Cause the court records all disappeared
'Cause the court records all disappeared

Say wherever you go in this fair land
In every union hall
In the dusty dark these words are marked
In between all the cracks upon the wall
In between all the cracks upon the wall

It's the very last line that Joe Will wrote
When he knew that his days were through
Boys, this is my last and final will
Good luck to all of you
Good luck to all of you

The Jazz Butcher - Southern Mark Smith (Original) - http://www.jazzbutcher.com/htdb/lyrics/smith.html

there's a different version that's better that I've got (or did have) on randomly purchased vinyl but I haven't been able to find it online.

yay found the right version on soulseek
Southern Mark Smith (big return)
Thousands of people out there just gotta be O.K.
Thousands of people- I'm sure your'e all fantastic
Oh, we can sit in a bar and get drunk and act like a bigmouth
Oh, don't you know they only make pop records out of plastic?
Right now you got to get along, get along, get along, get alonga get along
Just like a Southern Mark Smith

Whooo, ooo, ooo, oooh - Yeah, like a Southern Mark Smith
Whooo, ooo, ooo, oooh - Southern Mark Smith

Thousands of people are queueing for a shuttle into space
And ther's a stupid mental picture of a happy nuclear family in a rocket
Oh, look- in California, everyone's got a swimming pool in their backyard
Well-Me and Max and Davey Jones-
we think you ought to get out there and stop it

Hey, but you know what they tell you on the BBC
You know what they tell you and it's plain to see
You got to come out for lucky right songs(? - tbh I don't hear that line at all)
Get on out there if you want to try it out for yourself
You gotto get on out at 1 o'clock and try it out for yourself
You gotta walk & talk & think & be a girl just like a
Southern Mark Smith
Whooo, ooo, ooo, oooh - Just like a southern Mark Smith
Shout it out now!

Thousands of people are dying for a chance to be alone
And there are millions more who'd kill if they thought they'd make a friend
Oh, it's nonsense I know, but I have to find out where they could be living You never know- They could be living in sin, They could be carrying shame Gotta find someone new so they can carry the blame
Find out what makes your heart sing
Because I found out already what makes my heart sing
If I find out nothing else
I'm gonna find out what makes your heart sing
'Coz I heard it was like a Southern Mark Smith
Like a Southern Mark Smith
Nothing but a Southern Mark Smith

:D

third version of this I've heard today:oops:

Well, how do you do, Private William McBride,
Do you mind if I sit down here by your graveside?
And rest for awhile in the warm summer sun,
I've been walking all day, and I'm nearly done.
And I see by your gravestone you were only 19
When you joined the glorious fallen in 1916,
Well, I hope you died quick and I hope you died clean
Or, Willie McBride, was it slow and obscene?

Did they Beat the drum slowly, did the play the pipes lowly?
Did the rifles fir o'er you as they lowered you down?
Did the bugles sound The Last Post in chorus?
Did the pipes play the Flowers of the Forest?

And did you leave a wife or a sweetheart behind
In some loyal heart is your memory enshrined?
And, though you died back in 1916,
To that loyal heart are you forever 19?
Or are you a stranger without even a name,
Forever enshrined behind some glass pane,
In an old photograph, torn and tattered and stained,
And fading to yellow in a brown leather frame?

The sun's shining down on these green fields of France;
The warm wind blows gently, and the red poppies dance.
The trenches have vanished long under the plow;
No gas and no barbed wire, no guns firing now.
But here in this graveyard that's still No Man's Land
The countless white crosses in mute witness stand
To man's blind indifference to his fellow man.
And a whole generation who were butchered and damned.

And I can't help but wonder, no Willie McBride,
Do all those who lie here know why they died?
Did you really believe them when they told you "The Cause?"
Did you really believe that this war would end wars?
Well the suffering, the sorrow, the glory, the shame
The killing, the dying, it was all done in vain,
For Willie McBride, it all happened again,
And again, and again, and again, and again.

what was Peels' quote about the singers barely disgusied contempt (or something)?

This is why events unnerve me,
They find it all, a different story,
Notice whom for wheels are turning,
Turn again and turn towards this time,
All she asks the strength to hold me,
Then again the same old story,
World will travel, oh so quickly,
Travel first and lean towards this time.

Oh, Ill break them down, no mercy shown,
Heaven knows, its got to be this time,
Watching her, these things she said,
The times she cried,
Too frail to wake this time.

Oh Ill break them down, no mercy shown
Heaven knows, its got to be this time,
Avenues all lined with trees,
Picture me and then you start watching,
Watching forever, forever,
Watching love grow, forever,
Letting me know, forever.

In a fashion coat I float down my city
don't you think I look pretty anymore
I'll do everything to you but I can hardly come
cause I'm so afraid of you falling

I die fast in this city
outside I die slow

I'm not stupid I swear
I read the foreign news to understand my nation
you get two options in The You Estates
black city bloodbath or white country rape

I die fast in this city
outside I die slow
I die fast in this city
outside I die slow

everywhere I am is just another thing without you in it

Wasted and wounded
And it ain't what the moon did
I got what I paid for now
See you tomorrow
Hey Frank can I borrow
A couple of bucks from you
To go waltzing Matilda
waltzing Matilda
You'll go waltzing Matilda with me

I'm an innocent victim
of a blinded alley
And I'm tired of all these soldiers here
No-one speaks English
And everything's broken
And my strength is soaking away
To go waltzing Matilda, waltzing Matilda
You'll go a waltzing Malitda with me

Now the dogs they are barking
and the taxi cab's parking
A lot they can do for me
I begged you to stab me
You tore my shirt open
And I'm down on my knees tonight
Old bush mills I staggered
You buried the dagger
Your silhouette window light
To go waltzing Matilda, waltzing Matilda
You'll go a waltzing Matilda with me

Now I've lost my St. Christopher
Now that I kissed her
And the one-arm bandit knows
And the maverick Chinaman
with the cold-blooded sigh
And the girls down by the striptease shows go
Waltzing Matilda, waltzing Matilda
You'll go a waltzing Matilda with me

No I don't want your sympathy
Fugitives say that the streets aren't for dreaming now
Manslaughter dragnet
and the ghost that sells memories
Want a piece of the action anyhow
Go waltzing Matilda, waltzing Matilda
You'll go waltzing Matilda with me

And you can ask any sailor
And the keys from the jailor
And the old men in wheelchairs know
That Matilda's the defendant
She killed about a hundred
And she follows wherever you may go
Waltzing Matilda, waltzing Matilda
You'll go waltzing Matilda with me

And it's a battered old suitcasein a hotel someplace
And a wound that would never heal
No prima donnas the perfume is on
and old shirt that is stained
with blood and whiskey
And goodnight to the street-sweepers,
he night watchmen flame-keepers
And goodnight Matilda too
Goodnight Matilda too.

I've been contemplating suicide,
But it really doesn't suit my style,
So i think i'll just act bored instead
Who can take and contain the blood i would've shed?

She makes me feel so ugly so weary so ill at ease
My heart is really on it's knees
But i keep a poker face so well
That even mother couldn't tell

But my baby's so vain
She is almost a mirror
And the sound of her name
Sends a permanent shiver down my
Spine

I keep her photograph against my heart
For in my life she plays a starring part
All alcohol and cigarettes
There is no room for cheap regrets

But my baby's so vain
She is almost a mirror
And the sound of her name
Sends a permanent shiver down my
Spine

She makes me feel so ugly
My heart is really on it's knees
But i keep a poker face so well
That even mother couldn't tell

But my baby's so vain
She is almost a mirror
And the sound of her name
Sends a perennial shiver down my
Spine

David, the wind blows
The wind blows ...
Bits of your life away
Your friends all say ...
"Where is our boy ? Oh, we've lost our boy"
But they should know
Where you've gone
Because again and again you've explained that
You're going to ...

Oh, you're going to ...
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
England for the English !
England for the English !

David, the winds blow
The winds blow ...
All of my dreams away
And I still say :
"Where is our boy ? Ah, we've lost our boy"
But I should know
Why you've gone
Because again and again you've explained
You've gone to the ...

National, ah ...
To the National ..
There's a country; you don't live there
But one day you would like to
And if you show them what you're made of
Oh, then you might do ...

But David, we wonder
We wonder if the thunder
Is ever really gonna begin
Begin, begin
Your mum says :
"I've lost my boy"
But she should know
Why you've gone
Because again and again you've explained
You've gone to the :

National
To the National
To the National Front Disco
Because you want the day to come sooner
You want the day to come sooner
You want the day to come sooner
When you've settled the score

Oh, the National
Oh, the National
Oh, the National
Oh, the National
