What festivals are you going to this year?

I’ve got potential freebie into boardmasters but I went last year and fuck I felt old and it tipped down and had a ropey lineup. The only redeeming factor was I could jump on a bus and get home in 20minutes

I think unless family or. Close friends invite me to low key festies I think ‘ll be giving them a miss

So far done:

Bearded Theory (as a punter for a change)
Northern Kin (small, local, Ferocious Dog and Wilko Johnson played, cheap, win-win)
Rock and Bike Fest (for the 9th time)
Alston Live (booked at last minute to see a local Pink Floyd tribute band and by coincidence ended up camped next to them, again small. local and cheap)
Kendal Calling (only big commercial fest for us this year)

Still to do:
Lindisfarne (brilliant line-up and close to home)

armer Phil's Festival, weekend of Saturday 11th July ( @mr steev ?? )

Not this year. I was going to, but the line-up looks a bit weak compared to the ticket price, so I'm hopefully going to go camping in wales instead

Yes, I understand that reaction -- we were underwhelmed by the lineup as well. With luck there'll be a few unknowns that surprise and delight us.

We're still going though -- the tickets are £80=, but that allows you to camp for up to six nights, Monday to Sunday, with no campervan charge. We and van will be on site from earlyish Tuesday

And it's a beautiful area with loads of great walking and scenery, plus there's a brilliant, ale-friendly pub 15 minutes walk from site.

We're also committed attenders at Gail's Something Else festivals -- like last year, she's got her tent at Farmer Phil's with a good number of (adnittedly small!) bands/acts that we know well and rate :)

Give FP's Fest another go in a year that the main line up is stronger, I suspect you'd like it :)

It is good value if you go for the week. But as its not too far from me, we often go camping and stay on the farm next to Phil's (cheaply, as we know the farmer) so the longer stay isn't as enticing :)

Going to Modem festival this year. Dark Psy trance and deep techno. I sometimes question if I want to sacrifice other trips for festivals, but once I'm there I know the answer is always no.

To be honest not sure why I question it. 7 days of music on a lovely rig, dancing and mind altering substances is what I'd imagine heaven is like.

Can get expensive though.

In Croatia -nice!
I'd love to go to a festival abroad but I really don't want to camp in a tent again- I'm spoilt because I like to camp in luxury in my van etc :D

Still dithering after Twisted Village fell through, but Griffstock is nearby, cheap, and "quite punky", so that's a definate. May go to Wickham for a day, and considering a family trip to End of the Road except that's the same weekend as Bunkfest.

I've usually found hassle and restrictions less in Europe which makes me really reluctant to go to UK based ones. I was probably going to the wrong ones though to be fair. Musically Modem really fits us too so hopefully it should be good. We are going to spend a few days in Split so it will be a holiday too. :)

Could you drive to one in Europe? Absolute mission though.

Hey ddraig :) or anyone else that has been, I'm thinking of going to this in August. What was it like?
It's cool and decent size, camping close, inside and outside bits, proper toilet and bar inside. Also Hay on Wye nearby to pop to for a stroll or food earlier in day before stages get going
