What are you playing at the moment?

Looks like the first big update for Space Marine 2 is coming this week! Been playing basically nothing else for four weeks now, it’s such a good game, love it!

Bought a few games this weekend.

Brotato DLC - Not played it much recently after sinking 40 hours into, but I bought the DLC for £3 to support the Devs. Adds some new characters etc. I still drop in on it every now and again and it's worth picking up if you like those sorts of games.

Slay the Spire - Rougelike card game and so far I love it. Perfect on the deck.

Mutant Road to Eaden - Turn based game similar to Xcom that I mentioned previously.

Return to Obra Din - I think this is a text based story game. It's very highly rated so I'll get round to it at some point.

Games that I've played recently though not much as I've been so tired from Covid/Sinus infections:

Civ 6 - still playing through a Russian religious run but not sure I'll finish it off. I really need to give Old World a run at some point.

Outer Worlds - I so badly wanted to like this but after 12 hours I've just not had the drive to go back. I should bite the bullet and get the second Plague Requiem as I like to have a action game on the go.

Don't starve - Really hard survival game. I'm shit but I like to jump on it now and again.

Partisans 1941 - This games just not hit for me at all but I only paid £3 for it. Annoying as I feel like it's the sort of game I'd normally really enjoy.

It'll take me ages to get through these if I do at all but the games I bought today only cost £30 all together which isn't to bad even if two of them only stick.

I've now got a laptop to stream my steam library from my PC for games that I feel don't play well on the steam deck. It works quite well though it's annoying as ideally I'd have room for a desk for my PC. Ah well. :)

I finally finished Disco Elysium. I've been playing Infested Planet, which is a horde fighter / tower defence game. Quite old but cheap. It's quite intense, so something for short bursts.

Thronefall - another tower defence game. Pretty good but I've got to a point where I can't really progress, probably need to unlock more power ups or something.

The other half is away currently so I've had some time to get stuck in to the new Factorio DLC, Space Age.

In light of recent events, polluting the fuck out of one planet only to realise you need to fly to others so you can pollute the fuck out of those too seems strangely apt.

In all seriousness though, it's the sort of game I can lose myself in for hours, optimising my circuit production or trying out new ways of scaling my power grid. The DLC adds a whole new factory dynamic of "quality" upgrades for all the various components, as well as technologies and factory gubbins that are unique to certain planets. Other mods for vanilla factorio have had similar things (e.g. Bob's Mods) but as ever with Factorio it's the slickly polished bundle with a thousand different ways to play it that seals the deal. The scope now being a whole solar system means I'll probably be sinking another 250 hours in to this save to have the best interplanetary factory ships possible.

Out of the games I bought a couple of weeks ago Slay the Spire has been the one I've played the most and I love it.

Loaded up Mutant Year Zero today. I wasn't sure on it before buying it, and at first I didn't like the fact you moved around manually between missions. Basically I wanted Xcom2, but not Xcom2. Having played it for a couple of hours though I really like it. I like the different take on strategy and sneaking around to do ambushes, and it's quite hard too for me. Not sure I'll replay it, but I like it a lot.

Finally got the Euro Truck map back to 100% after the Balkan map and various updates to Germany. Now what do I do with my 4 billion euros?

Also playing Hogwarts and FlatOut 2 silly stunt games. Waiting for the Christmas break to play the newest Life is Strange.
