well, a kitten really - the little baggage is too small to be called a cat.
she's a stray, been living at the bottom of my sister's garden since early summer (my sister couldn't take her in because she has 2 cats who were decidedly against the idea). my sister and her neighbour had been feeding her occasionally but she was still skin and bones - and desperate for any kind of attention or affection, to boot
Photo and i were visiting my sister last weekend, and we decided we just couldn't leave her - she was so tiny and pathetic so we bunged her in my sister's spare cat carrier and took her home with us
it was pretty unplanned, but then we'd been planning to get a cat in a few months, once we'd bought a house, anyway ... tho we were planning on getting a pair of quiet old cats, not a sprightly young thing!
anyway, she's had her first vet's appointment and the vet confirmed she's not chipped (and said that she wouldn't have survived the winter so we did the right thing by rescuing her). she's got flu and conjunctivitis, but other than that she's perfectly healthy. the vet reckons she's 7 months old. we've been given worming tablets for her, and drops for her eyes, and she's had an antibiotics shot. she needs all the usual immunisations, neutering, etc, so it's going to be an expensive few weeks for us - but it's so worth it. she's visibly putting on weight by the day, her energy levels are soaring as the flu treatment kicks in, and she's loving having a home to explore (and slaves to stroke her, feed her and play with her!)
i've only uploaded one pic of her so far, but here it is (having a yawn on Photo's favourite fluffy blanket (which she has monopolised!)) -
she's called tomasina
