Wild in Walthamstow: Europe’s biggest urban wetlands opens

A new nature reserve (opened on Friday) with free entry. There a clickable link in the Guardian story for upcoming events at the wetlands.

I remember when I lived in London and nobody even knew where Walthamstow was. Now everyone I know in London seems to have been shunted out there due to affordable housing.

Anyway, the wetlands are lovely, amazingly free, and a good idea for a day out for those with (or even without) kids.

Dogs not allowed, which is a shame. The hound would be upset and angry if we went for a countryside walk without him.

Went there today, its lovely but the cafe was rammed, have only explored about 5% of it. Going to go back. Walked from there to Dalston and enjoyed smokey Whisky.

Went there on Sunday , 35 minute walk from home to the Coppermill Lane entrance , nice walk over the marshes  Just had a stroll around and popped into the Ferry Man across the road from the main entrance. It's a massive site!
