I lived in California in the mid-eighties for a year, when I was 10, and we had regular tests on this. I think the highest I ever got was 11. I also refused to 'pledge allegiance to the flag' after a couple of weeks.

Most of them are cunts, ime, but the nice ones are lovely if you can find them.

Are you actually allowed to do that? I was under the impresssion that it was pretty much compulsory in American schools.

As a 10 year old English boy in 1986 I was allowed, yes.

Most of who? Americans? Don't be stupid.

It was my experience of living there. I'm glad that you don't agree, as that means you're having a much better time than I did.

Sad but true. :(

I would more put American's down as odd rather than cunts but that's just cos I've been bought up English and not an American. I'm sure they think we are perculiar. It's the Scottish, irish and Welsh that don't like the English! :D

Anyway, as my US ancestors go right back to the Pilgrim fathers, it's quite likely that I share a gene pool with a lot of America. :D

Maybe I should have said 'Most of them were cunts, but the nice ones were lovely' then, to be specific.

I guess I see what you mean, but it's just daft to generalize about any nation--especially a nation of immigrants. And as an American myself I feel obliged to jump to the defence of my compatriots.

Wyoming. No one has been to Wyoming.

it was towards the end of an exceedingly long road trip and i was about 8. i know i've been there but fucked if i can remember much more

Idaho.

Why would anyone want to go there? Apart from having the first town on the planet to be lit with nuclear power (and now serious amounts of plutonium in the water system), it's a nothing state. Doesn't even produce that many potatoes.

It's a good place to go if you're a white supremacist.

Also, there are some interesting places for non racists. Craters of the Moon park is great: caves inside a lava flow. I got a good coffee mug at Boise, in one of those humongous truck gas and rest stops. At Pocatello, I ran for the first time on one of those tracks made out of chipped rubber, at the University of Idaho.

I love Wyoming. Aside from Yellowstone Park, there's tons of diversity there geographically speaking, from semi-desert, to mountains, forests etc. Cody Wyoming, we saw the real deal Wild West-type show. Thermopylae was cool if you're into arid, which I am.
