Urban posters quizword part 3

So you're left with

7 A blast from the ...future (8) - Scifisam
11 Copper (3) - Cid
16 Style (6) - teqniq :hmm:

7 is the one I could change because its a hard clue.

I think I can speak for Maggot when I say that we hope that 16 is a fuckton better than 'mod'.

Cid was really easy. In hindsight.

I think 16 is easy. Really surprised it's in the last two to be answered. Then again, maybe its not an exact synonym so sorry if you quibble, which you may.

If it is that, it's a serious clue fail. :D (sorry planetg)

Nah, you're free to argue. I understand they aren't exact synonyms but I think it was fair enough in this quiz. Maybe I should have put a question mark after the word. But I think there are contexts, tennis for one, where people use style and technique interchangeably.

I think its moot, but "serious clue fail" sounds harsh to me. Mistranscribing my bloody anagram for farmerbarleymow was a serious clue fail.

Anyway, about your own name that you failed to get littlebabyjesus ... ;)

Fair enough. It isn't spelt right, though, so I think a ? would have helped. But anyway I did very badly, including not getting myself. I had the right bit for the anagram as well.

Monkey puzzle! There was another setter, a guy in prison, Fidelio, (I do life), not sure if he's still about.

I remember him but never knew this. Thanks for that titbit.

He the Guardian one? I used to do the Guardian xword and even finished it sometimes. Judging by recent performance, I think I'd struggle now.

Yes, Araucaria was a genius and a polymath. Died at about 92, setting puzzles up to his death. Massive range of knowledge, including regular drug slang based answers...at 92 ffs.

Wasters at the Guardian didn't even set a Christmas puzzle last year, just a rubbish themed one on about Dec21st. I gave up with that paper long ago.

Anyone know a good online crossword compiler site? I have found a couple, but at least one just doesn't actually work, and (ideally) I'd like to be able to choose some of the grid layout as well...
