The Subway really only serves the West. North, South and Eastend need to be connected. So either a combination of the 1937 plans and the 1944, or the 2010 plans with an extra spur to the north.
One of the difficulties is that apparently the original tunnels are an unusual size, requiring smaller gauge tracks and smaller trains than usual. This puts the costs up today. But if we want cars off the road, and we do, then they have to do it.
