they did the radio show first. then tried to alter it to fit tv.

So if someone enjoys the TV show and hasn't heard the radio stuff, they won't just listen to the radio stuff and go meh.

Assuming that they're not as jaded/cynical/perceptive as Santino.

Its ok, might find it a bit similar though.

They did a thing on Radio1's The Breezeblock a few years a go that I thought was funny. They sounded a bit off their tits.

I'm a big fan of the boosh.

Mental story lines, the range of daft charcters, brillaint comic acting, the genius of the songs.

Old greg, the hitcher, milky joe, the spirit of jazz, the betamax bandit.

The best episodes are stand alone classics with enough ideas and characters that would sustain other comedies for an enitre seiries -

Some highlights -

Bolo the gorilla is taken ill so the zoo management make howard stand in for him. Death (a skeletal cockney taxi driver) comes for Bolo but takes Howard instead and delivers him to monkey hell - where he is accused of bumming a fox.

The story of bongo brothers Rudi and Spider who are looking for the new sound in the desert (instead of ripping off santana again). They find a town full of women who are being terrorised by the betamax bandit - a demonic creture composed of old video tape. Rudi - a 'psychedelic monk' - tries to destroy him with the power of his fusion guitar licks but fails, then spider produces a remote control and presses 'rewind' ..

Howard and Vince borrow Naboos book of black magic so as to try and impress some goth girls. They accidently summon up an uber evil demon - Nana Tu - in the form of an old lady - who steals the book in order to instigate 'nannageddon'. They manage to track her down at the bingo - but vince is close to getting a full house ....

And loads more.

At its best its massively inventive, surreal genius.

Can be watched again and again.

Thirds seires went a bit off the boil - but they did the correct thing and didn't do any more after that.

British comedy has a grand tradition of surrealism; Q, Python, Vic Reeves, Absolutely. But that particular kind of humour is universal. A Japanese friend recommended it to me & I was hooked from the first ep. Also enjoyed Bunny & the Bull.

I forced myself to watch the first 2 episodes and was left scratching my head wondering what the fuck that was all about.

Shite. Wont be watching again.

i enjoyed the first series but it got worse after that. second series had a few good moments then it went completely shit.

i saw fielding in soho once, he's tiny and scruffy.
