The lonely tech post thread.

I was thinking of ways to achieve this, and decided it might be best to see one in action before putting too much thought into it.
The only indication that it has switched to the secondary source is the red indicator in the middle. The lever doesn't turn of its own accord, it has to be turned manually. So the only way to receive a notification that it'd switched inputs (without opening it up) would be to monitor the colour of the spy glass.
Mine most definitely switches over of its own accord - fats the whole point of them. Some, but not mine, do actually have an electrical contact closure to indicate reserve supply.

On the computer there are usually at least three things that could be: sound muted on program, sound muted on computer, loudspeak amplifier not switched on ( happens more often that it should and takes me ages to realize).

Probably no use to you though, and as I recall you're at a much higher tech level than I and so, sorry to say this but have you tried switching ..... ? (does sometimes reset for me).

It’s not muted. I could factory reset it and that will probably sort it but it’s a ball ache. This tv was cheap and has been nothing but trouble.
