To my shock (and dismay) I was idly watching the fishtank when a tiny strange fish hove into sight. Over the past few days, I have seen at least 5, getting larger by the day. I am seeing a lot of jostling, especially from loachy-boy (there are 2 goldfish, 1 loach and 3 danios in the tank...and potentially, a population explosion.

I have a tiny pond at the allotment...but probably not much bigger than the fishtank (360 litres)...which is looking a bit sorry (blanket weed). Also, Malaysian ramshorn snails have been reproducing like mad. Need to either transfer fish to somewhere, some-one else. Is an outside pond OK (could dig and line a bigger one at the woods, I guess).

Herons love goldfish, so if you put them outside, they'll likely get eaten at some point.

Goldfish are very edible and make good soup apparently.

They're a variety of carp--lots of little bones in them. I suppose you could swallow them whole.
