The Final thread

The Spanish have been a class above with quality all over the field. Ienescu (sp) particularly.

German are almost a one-man team just now, they've actually got worse as the toruny progressed.

I'm starting to get nervious now!

Booked the day off tomorrow at work as I anticipate I'll be fairly plastered by the end- whether we win or lose.

i want a good final. but i really really want Spain to win.

A missing Ballack could be key - which shows how much greater Spain's strength in depth is. No Villa - No problem.

Are we agreed that if Fabregas is on form it's game over for the Germans?

(And that little Iniesta guy, who's been a great number 6)

Both teams have pretty weak defences, hopefully that will result in a couple of goals, not some drab game that the Germans will grind out for an undeserved win. Spain to win for me.

Apparently UEFA are going to extend Euro Championship to 24 teams for Euro 2016,way to go in ruining an almost perfect footie compition :(

I fancy a punt on this, but it's too close to call

Yes Spain have the better players, but Germany are Germany

10 on Spain I reckon

Just heard Thomas Hitzelsperger doing the German press conference.

He speaks English with a German/Brummie accent, obviously picked up during his time at the Villa.

It was very Monty Python.:)

Even without Ballack, Germany do have quite a few attacking options. Podowlski is a strong runner, Klose can poach with the best of them, and Schweinsteiger has shown more than once in this torunament his ability to ghost into the area from out wide and not be picked up. If they can get good set-pieces into the box, the height of Metzelder and Mertesacker will certainly threaten the Spanish goal.

On the other hand, if Torres can steal a yard on Metzelder or Mertesacker, I wouldn't have the highest confidence in Lehmann to come out of top every time. I thought Xavi had a quiet semi, but if he's in the groove so much can emerge from his boots.

me - germany

nowt against the Spains, but the country that produces the best beer in the world should win
