The dirty, the tasty and the quick.

But, but ramen are so unhealthy, even before the high sodium content in the flavouring, you can't eat them more than once or twice a week (once if you're a woman because going by South Korean studies the risk of metabolic syndrome is increased by 68% if you eat 'em twice a week or more). Doesn't that counter any nutritional benefits of the veg?
Nope.

(Is that really true about only eating ramen once/twice a week? 😱)

All those years of pretty much living on packet noodles. Even now, I definitely eat them at least twice a week. :(
The problems with instant noodles are that they're usually deep-fried and that they contain far too much salt. You can buy air-dried noodles and get the flavourings separately from most Asian grocers. Or make your own without all the salt (there are a few good recipes online and it's still a pretty quick dish).

Fried ham and cheese sandwich. Best with really good bread like a sourdough sliced really thick. I always feel like Elvis when I make one.
When I do this I do it in my normal frying pan and stick my cast iron pan on top of the sandwich so it gets nice and flat and crispy. Also, must be fried in butter.

Though sometimes nothing will do but a full on croque madame with cheese and a fried egg on top.

When I've only got a 5 minute lunchbreak it's ham, cheese and a good grind of pepper on a plate, in microwave 1 min. pour it onto toast. sandwich.

My go to comfort food (not sure if this is a stoke/northern thing or if it was just common in our house) is tinned tomatoes, cheese and bacon under the grill on a big tin plate. dunk half a loaf of bread in it.

Now I'm in the land of cheap avocados so it's pretty much just avo on toast. or poached egg, avo and black pud.

Koka noodles smashed up and put in an extra large mug with a sachet of your favourite instant soup ...add boiling water leave 4 mins.. and then mucrowave for 2 mins.
Home made pot noodles.

Does scraps count as dirty? Always over cater when cooking so that the fridge is brimming with little dishes of them. Then when a super quick meal is needed just ladle them into a bowl, zapp in the microwave and a splash of hot sauce and away you go, add cheese to taste

Had potato dolphin noses with pasta and curry and veg fried rice yesterday. All together,, didn't mix as prefer the layered effect , no cheese necessary on that one.

Tin (yes, the really cheap ones) of hot dog sausages and a pack of instant noodles, cook the whole lot in one pan and scoff.

Enough salt and processed shit in there to fell an elephant, but it's bloody tasty and bloody quick.

(I absolutely love cooking, but we all need the occasional day off and the above is my go-to "can't be arsed but want something tasty and filling" meal)

Oh, thought of another - Iceland's chicken and chorizo frozen paella in a bag. Don't be fooled, it isn't paella, but it is quick and tasty (although not that cheap, given that I can quite happily eat the whole bag in 1 go, yes I am a bit of a pig at times).

It also benefits from having filthy cheap hot dog sausages added to it.

Basically I'll add a tin of hot dog sausages to anything, do you think they put something addictive in them?
