Spain have only played Italy 5 times in the World Cup and European Championships but have failed to win any of the games. The results have been:

1994 World Cup QF 2-1
1988 European Championship group game 1-0
1980 European Championship group game 0-0
1934 World Cup QF 1-1 then 1-0 in the replay

They have played each other a further 22 times and Spain have won 8 times and Italy 6.

Most of these are friendlies. The only victory for Spain in an official tournament was in their first encounter at the 1920 Olympic games consolation tournament.
